We know that Huron isn’t pirating alone, and today we can show you one of his most loyal followers: This is Garreon the Corpsemaster – former Chief Apothecary of the Astral Claws, and rumoured to be one responsible for piecing Huron back together after he met the wrong end of a meltagun at the Siege of Badab.

He’s just one of a veritable battle barge full of new Corsairs*, sailing your way soon. You can see more of Huron, Garreon and the rest of the Red Corsairs live in the Preview show.

A couple of odd details on this. The fallen marine appears to have a belt buckle that's closer to the Primaris style, the helix adept style narthecium and the weird pizza cutter blade on the narthecium. I think I found the Apothecary model for my kill team.

Whats the marine under his foot?

Unhappy, that's what.

Jokes aside, given Garreon's presence, it stands to reason that the rest of Huron's crew will also be named. Probably from Master of the Maelstrom, as theorized by plenty other people already. So that means the two-handed axe wielder must be Katar Garrix and the sorcerer is Garlon Souleater. But what about the human? Sargotta? She's a ship captain so maybe not, but that does appear to be some sort of command dais, so maybe she calls down bombardments from the ship or something along those lines?

These two are real interesting though.

For starters, as per the comment I made on the other thread with the leaks, these rumour engines are on the left model, and now we can quite safely assume the tail belongs to the right one as well. You can even faintly see warpaint in a triangular pattern on top of the tail, which matches the claw, so these two may be related.

The question is, what are they? For both the gun and claw rumour engines I thought they were kroot-related. The gun matches the design language of a couple other guns on the kroot Kill Team, the triangular pattern warpaint features on various of their newer models, and the claw appears to have two fingers and two thumbs, matching a kroot hand. And kroot are mercenaries, so it's not out of the question that one of them might be rolling with Blackheart's crew.

But this guy is way bulkier than the usual kroot and I can't see quills. Now, it could be a kroot variant, like a green kroot, which would be fun to see. But it could also be something entirely different. For instance, the weapon that just happens to match the design language on this one is the Londaxii Tribalest, which isn't made by the kroot, but by another species called the Londaxi, who are really just a footnote to justify the gun's existence, but there's a non-zero chance we see our first Londaxi in about two weeks.

Ooooooooooooooor I suppose it could just be some weirdo mutant that Huron has adopted. Who knows. But do colour me very intrigued.

Simply watching as an agent of chaos, if the Custodes minis are of the "have always been there" variety, the fallout will be fun to watch

I really like this detail. The one Red Corsair does not seem like he is quite ready to give up his gene-seed, but Garreon is going to take it anyway. Exactly what you would expect from a renegade apothecary!

Iirc Huron gets the allegience of some Space Wolves in his recent novel. Maybe it's tied to the Red Corsair reveals?

I am shocked, offended, and interested

"rumoured to be one responsible for piecing Huron back together"

Something about this annoys me more than it should.

First it probably should be "rumoured to be THE one.'

But why do they need to say that ita a rumoured that the most important medical officer performed life saving surgery on the most important officer? It something that most people would take as given. Seems a bit redundant.

Why yes, I do have more spare time on my hands than normal this time of year. Why do you ask?

Guessing they play space wolves

Space Wolves lore is more offensive to the senses than Ultramarines but they're always given a pass for some reason. If GW wants to ACTUALLY do something interesting like corrupted Wolves, there should be celebrating.

Looks like Custodes (probably of the HH variety) are on the menu.

OR we're finally getting Jokaero back.

Wondering if the character on the left might be a kroot after all. The outline of the feet look like they have 3 toes with a resemblance to Kroot.

Could be a hint at Kroot mercenaries getting a rules expansion to ally into other armies? God I hope so.
