Corpsemaster isn't a very reassuring title for a doctor.

Seems like most chaos apothecaries are mad scientist types. Fabius is the archetype here but there's a few other in the novels. I'm surprised they went this way with this guy. The Astral Claws fell due to imperial politicking and misguided loyalties. It seems a shame that he's a mad scientist instead of a professional who fell in with the wrong crowd.

Neat. Hope the Defiler is shown!

Very interested to see the rumoured Custodians, particularly whether this will be a complete break point between the 40k and 30k ranges. I'm betting it will be.

Iirc Huron gets the allegience of some Space Wolves in his recent novel. Maybe it's tied to the Red Corsair reveals?

The Wolf of Fenris surrendering to the Red Corsairs (with some of the Space Wolves joining them) goes waaaay back to the 4th edition CSM codex, so it's much older than that novel.

Unhappy, that's what.

Jokes aside, given Garreon's presence, it stands to reason that the rest of Huron's crew will also be named. Probably from Master of the Maelstrom, as theorized by plenty other people already. So that means the two-handed axe wielder must be Katar Garrix and the sorcerer is Garlon Souleater. But what about the human? Sargotta? She's a ship captain so maybe not, but that does appear to be some sort of command dais, so maybe she calls down bombardments from the ship or something along those lines?

These two are real interesting though.

For starters, as per the comment I made on the other thread with the leaks, these rumour engines are on the left model, and now we can quite safely assume the tail belongs to the right one as well. You can even faintly see warpaint in a triangular pattern on top of the tail, which matches the claw, so these two may be related.

image.png.8d53e3d485f122bfb466e2da091c8aeb.pngimage.png.7320945e81a225d3b520f8b19724672c.pngimage.png.fa877cee9046a63e8e827007cee8cc79.png

The question is, what are they? For both the gun and claw rumour engines I thought they were kroot-related. The gun matches the design language of a couple other guns on the kroot Kill Team, the triangular pattern warpaint features on various of their newer models, and the claw appears to have two fingers and two thumbs, matching a kroot hand. And kroot are mercenaries, so it's not out of the question that one of them might be rolling with Blackheart's crew.

But this guy is way bulkier than the usual kroot and I can't see quills. Now, it could be a kroot variant, like a green kroot, which would be fun to see. But it could also be something entirely different. For instance, the weapon that just happens to match the design language on this one is the Londaxii Tribalest, which isn't made by the kroot, but by another species called the Londaxi, who are really just a footnote to justify the gun's existence, but there's a non-zero chance we see our first Londaxi in about two weeks.

Ooooooooooooooor I suppose it could just be some weirdo mutant that Huron has adopted. Who knows. But do colour me very intrigued.

To me, the outline of the body resembles Ironkin Steeljacks.

That's exactly what I was thinking! Steeljack character coming? Or a variant?

Also, as an aside: What's with the Red Corsairs and their goofy grins right now? Garreon's definitely looking ... happy ... At least it's easier to attribute to the paintjob this time around. Very cool model. And very interesting hints!

Very exciting,  this announcement! The "hound" like fella can be a Loxatl.

Garreon in really cool and I'm going to get one ASAP, specially if it's sold separately.

For Horus Heresy, I belive Talons of the Emperor are next.

I understand where you're coming from with the bulk and the lack of neck, but I don't see it. I can see the start of a fleshy arm in the rumour image with the claw, I think I can see digitigrade legs in the silhouette, and from what admittedly little we can discern in the leaks, it doesn't look like a steeljack very much, even if it was supposed to be a chaosy one.

I'll say this though, while I'd very much prefer any sort of Chaos-aligned (fleshy) xeno over a renegade steeljack, if this is somehow the return of Chaos androids then I'm in.

Maybe it's to contrast against the grim, determined stiff upper lips of the Imperial characters? Or simply that after the opening of the rift, the forces of Chaos are generally having a great time?

Either way, I really like this model, and I have to give credit to the painter, the eyes really sell the "diorama" elements of the moment being shown.

I think he kinda looks like he's got some Chaos Ogryn in him too, his head (As much as we can tell) sorta looks like the Chaos Ogryn from that somewhat recent Kill Team.  Very hard to tell tho with the artifacting.

I keep seeing a rat skull, but I've got a bad case of Skaven brain, so I'm extremely biased.

As some other folks have suggested, my money is on a Loxatl and a Tarellian dog soldier for the odd ones in the mix. It doesn't seem like we're getting a Valthex in this retinue, which is a bummer, but maybe he'll get a separate release?

Well Garreon is going to make a lovely Night Lords Apothecary.

I'm looking forward to the preview. Hopefully we get some roadmaps.

He would make a great Variel model, just stick a helmet on him because The Flayer would never have a grin like that.

Anyone else see the resembelence? He's even got the Heath Ledge Chelsea Smile.

He's giving me more Mr. Frog vibes.

Space Wolves lore is more offensive to the senses than Ultramarines but they're always given a pass for some reason. If GW wants to ACTUALLY do something interesting like corrupted Wolves, there should be celebrating.

In Blood Reaver one of the reasons Variel left the Red Corsairs was because of the Chaos worship in the ranks, including Garreon, his mentor.

The Astral Claws might have originally turned due to political reasons, but that original intent matters little when one is corrupted by the Dark Gods. Compare Lufgt Huron to Huron Blackheart.

In the upper pic it almost looks like the mini has a gas mask kinda tube or a kinds pointed head/helmet

On the lower pic it seems like the fist is huge compared to the gun.

I am really curious what this miniature could be!

The first thing that I thought when I saw the leak was that this model was going to be used in countless Variel conversions.
