Ok, gonna post the video here:

And gonna do the recap here:

  • After the Maelstrom starts the Eye of Terror campaign
  • There is a big box called “Lords of the Maelstrom” (speculates on it being just Red Corsairs)
  • Combat Patrols, one of them is for Leagues of Votann: 10 model vox with strategist, 2 squads of steeljacks and one squad of hearthkyn pioneers
  • Battalion boxes for Eye of Terror for Imperial Knights (speculates on it being the rumoured Questoris Knight), AdMech (skorpius disentegrator, chicken walker, dune crawler)
  • Coming back to the Iron Hands combat patrol (1 warpsmith, 5 havocs, 10 legionnaires, 5 terminators, and the upgrade kit), insists on no Iron Warriors HQs coming
  • Next-next book is Armageddon
  • Deathwatch getting some love with a new combat patrol (corvus blackstar, 10 aquila marines, no HQ)
  • Talks about Boole (some day TGA is gonna ban him) the post where he talks about more epic heroes for eldar, orks, and nids
  • Valrak adds that he has a source on nids, that it is the Red Terror. He has “a hint” on the ork HQ being pirate shenanigans, doesn’t know about the eldars

*sighs and sets up what valrak will get right 2026, bingo card*

He (or should that be the rumours he he chooses to believe) did quite well last year I felt

Also in that write up? I think the Iron Hands might get a bit upset at being mistaken for Iron Warriors

Personally, no reason to doubt these apart from his own speculations. Would absolutely love a new Red Terror

Ah the end of edition stuff. Some great models and a whole bunch of books with mcguffins and plots that never go anywhere. Never change GW.

A new Red Terror would be cool. I thought they did a fantastic job with Deathleaper. I'm not that familiar with Tyranid lore, what was the Red Terror based off? Was it a Ravener?

The Night Lords upgrade sprue was pretty darn good. Hopefully the Iron Warriors one is too. Long term they'll hopefully roll them out for Alpha Legion & Word Bearers.

So there is Warpsmith for the Iron Warriors but no Warsmith?  A bit disappointing, but on the other hand, I'm happy if they don't get too divergent and lose access to half their current roster in the process.

For what its worth, when he's spoken about in the past, the whispers have said its a step down from the Night Lords one, mostly heads and other minor stuff

Bring on the Alpha Legion one I say

Ambigious I believe, I think in universe some think its a (big) ravener others more a trygon (?)

The bnw art piece makes it out to be more the latter in size, but the old model wasn't that big

Aeldari epic hero is interesting, it could be Iyanna Arienal in a continuation of some current plot points, it could be Harlequins second ever named character ( but the first they can use ), it could even be Vect ( or other drukhari) or it could be my namesake or more likely something equivalent but new ( if that release will line up with exodites in kill team ) as all of these are Aeldari.

It's most likely Karandras though, as i really dont believe "we forgot to make him"... a bit boring compared to other options but heavily awaited by many either way.

Likely place would be Eye of Terror, or a hypothetical 5th warzone/campaign.. I dont think eldar have anything to do with Armageddon?

Edit : Forgot 2 options; the Ultramarine aligned Aeldari epic hero if the campaign ends with a 500 worlds " the other guy " book. Or a suprising 4th ynnari epic hero as part of the "there will be betrayal" plotline in yriels story ( in a course correct to completely untie him from croneswords etc ).. though both are less likely than the others.

That's too bad.

Yeah, I didn't think they would do a separate one this soon, but as I work my way through the Kill Team one, I wish there was a different one coming. Don't love some of the choices they made

Maybe a veteran kill team or something eventually

could also be a new Illic Nightspear, replacing the old Finecast one that's now OOP

2026 year of the pirates; Red Corsairs, Eldar Corsairs and now at least one Freeboota? I vote for space dwarf pirates next.

Vampire Coast for Old World or riot.

Warsmiths are a little funny. In the 2001 Index Astartes rules, it's just noted as the name of the Iron Warriors' Chaos Lords (with no differences otherwise). Iron Warriors at large could uniquely (for CSMs) take Bionics and Servo Arms (rules which persisted into the 2002 Codex) so when the 2002 Iron Warriors upgrade pack came alongside a character, it made a degree of sense that said character had the unique wargear.

(Similarly, Word Bearers uniquely had the Accursed Crozius wargear and Demagogue skill available, in order to make their fluff's Dark Apostles. Word Bearers didn't get an upgrade pack/character model, though.)

The 2007 Codex removed these options, before the 2012 Codex introduced the new (generic) Dark Apostle and Warpsmith models/units. It's possible that the Warpsmith was then intended as a generic Warsmith already. (Similar to how the Dark Apostles moved from being a unique Word Bearer thing).

These are very valid points, and probably along GW's lines of thinking.

"A Warsmith was -- as perhaps the title implies -- required to fashion and mould a battlefield to their will, not simply to excel at fighting or indeed leading those who fought. They were expected to have a complete mastery of logistics, siegecraft, ordnance and the cerebral comprehension of war; from planning campaigns of planetary conquest to the rapid calculation of tactical fire zones in a shattered urban ruin."

Based on the Warsmiths descriptions, I see their representation on the tabletop less as glorified techmarines, more along the lines of a Memnyr Strategist, Skitarii Marshal or Autarch. But GW clearly emphasised the smith in warSMITH :teehee:

I still can't belive that we're getting a 4th Armaggedon war with tied-in model releases and none of them is Steel Legion themed, not even a kill team box.

I'm at this point. Seems like every single bit of the story "moving forward" has been some kind of re-hash. I'd say this is worse than an actually stagnant setting just getting campaign books that take place in the setting's past.
