What are your best Warhammer memories?

Mine revolves around being the kid who started the Warhammer club in my school. GW staff came down and gave us so much stuff. Boxsets for everything, paint sets, battle tables. All sorts.

Then we got to go to Warhammer World with them for the open day too, which was awesome.

The club was on Wednesdays.. and after we finished there, me and the boys would all go back to mine and pile into the attic (my Dad converted it into a gaming room complete with a 6x4 table) and we’d have a huge battle on there until it got dark and everyone had to go home haha.

Those were the days.

For me, personally, nothing beats the days when I was a kid and was discovering the hobby and the setting for the 1st time.

Back in those days the internet wasn't what it is now, and there weren't organised online communities like today. Everything came to me in bits via magazines, articles, hushes conversations in games workshop stores.
The first time I ever heard of certain characters was when I saw them being painted in the store, and really had to use my imagination when looking at small, metal models in their small, plastic packaging with no box art.

It felt like a boutique experience, back in those days. Good times.

Best memories was as a teenager on my trips into the Edinburgh store. Always a great atmosphere, something going on regularly, took part in events, and the staff were awesome, friendly, and genuinely felt that they were enjoying themselves (not that I'm saying the staff now aren't, but the times they have a changed!).

Also, because it was a time before the internet it was the place to buy our stuff, and much like a lot of looking back, it all felt so much more "fun".
