Hey chaps, just passing on some whispers I've heard.

- NEW Intercessor Squad (Mixed Armour, Same bolt weapons)
- NEW Vanguard Veterans

- NEW Jump Chaplain

Boxset is apparently called 'ARMAGEDDON'

Will keep updating you if I hear anymore, also did a good waffle on it this morning for those interested:

Spoiler

So the kits in the box are the new intercessors and boys that will be sold individually? They aren't exclusive to the starter/launch boxes as they have been for the last few editions? Does that mean we'll get a repeat of what happened with the necron warrior box in 9th where it was cheaper to buy a starter set than a box of standard infantry?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't all of these part of previous rumours already? Are there really no new rumours about models, not even on the Ork side?

More or less but with the confirmation that theres no special weapons so ot isnt a 1:1 with the tactical squad box

Are those explicitly new Intercessors?

If they're actually new Tacticals that's pretty much all the Firstborn kits updated.

If they're not tho, hopefully they aren't replacing the Tacticals unit because I think that would cause some severe community Backlash. Again.

Oof, intercessors were what, 2016? Sub 10 years for a replacement kit. A new Mk7 might have been more interesting!

I'm keen to see what the Orks side contains - classically they might go with goffs, but bad Moons also had a massive presence at Armageddon, and the deff dread/killa kan/lootas kits are way older, and in GW style ready for an update.

Yes and no, Vanguard Vets have been rumoured for a while but now I am hearing they in the launch boxset, not post launch.

I've heard its not a tactical squad, basically a more 'rule of cool' Intercessor Squad.

I can see Tacticals being retired this edition. Everything else firstborn related has been replaced, or rumoured to be replaced soon.

Always felt it would happen as soon as Dante crossed the Rubicon. They made a big deal about the Blood Angels not wanting to risk him doing it in Darkness in the Blood book.

For the mixed armour, they could be like the Sternguard from Leviathan. That did a good job mixing older MKs with the Primaris look.

GW, start giving us proper 10man squad sculpts. I am tired of this 5marines times 2sprues...

That´´s all i ask, but since it´s another editon launch box, hopes ain´t high...

I get why, but 5-Marine sprues allow GW to split up kits for things like Combat Patrol and Battle force boxes, where you might not want a whole squad of troops taking up space.

A big reason why we kept seeing Thousand Sons boxes with Tzaangors is because you couldn't really split the Rubric box into two with the sprue layouts. Meaning your choices were always gonna be 10 rubrics or no rubrics. Or at least that's what I heard.

Yeah this isn't happening

I think they're gonna update Intercessors to be like Grey Hunters and Blood Claws; MkX, but with more variety and some bits reminiscent of older marks thrown in. And I think that's perfect. And they are probably also finally adding the sergeant weapons into the kit. I just wish rules would get updated too, so that there was some reason to take a weapon other than the power fist.

I recently build some Blood Claws (converted into Assault Intercessors) and they're a really nice kit. If they do something similar with the updated Intercessors I will be very pleased. Not that I need more Intercessors, but I'll get them anyway.

I will scream if GW release updated Tactical-style Intercessors without a smattering of special weapons to throw in. Like come on. Even if they're not in the starter box, just give us the sprue in the full kit like they did with the Termagants. It's literally all I want.

The issue is that doing the 10 man squad layout means less weapon options, and feeding the absolutely terrible unit options that plague current rules writing. They shouldn't write rules like they do to begin with, but that's a different discussion. It made my friend's (and partly mine when I borrowed them) Skitarii units illegal.

Anybody know how reliable this “Valrak” guy is? Last I heard in his videos he didn’t like us anymore.

Extremely reliable when talking anything marine shaped, but his eyes glaze over if it's not.

So, Intercessors with some old marks bits mixed in, like the Sternguard I presume.

Honestly, I feel like next edition has a fair chance of being the one where the last reaming Firstborn kits are retired.

Then you can start screaming now, GW has been adamant on the single weapon squads and based on Valrak it's still a bolt rifle only unit.

Probably, and its the time. I hope tracked vehicles stay and the Primaris can finally ride a Rhino. I wish we could get better looking Devastator replacement than the Desolators though.

Honestly, I feel like the only Firstborn units that will remain are those that can already be used by Primaris (which turns them into Primaris units), so the Fliers and Land Raiders.

Anything based on the Rhino chassis I expect to be gone.
