Ghaz sulked off after a big angry red guy killed his BF but he's back now after some Transhuman Furries brought his BF back to life.

narratively, one of the transhuman furries is also his boyfriend now. so he's heading to Armageddon to form a throuple with Yarrick and Ragnar. He's brought flowers!

I hope Ghazghkull and the Orks actually take Armageddon. Jobbing him to Ragnar took away his aura. Ork need a big W.

I kinda agree,  but like most factions what they NEED is to get rid of the existing named characters who have become saturday morning vilains 'Ill get you next time Armagedon!', introduce a new range of named characters, and give THEM some Ws.

I’m excited to see how they incorporate the old armor into the new intercessors compared to how the did it for SW as well as the other marines in the box

I thought the trailer was good but that the 10th trailer got the vibe of 40k better. Either way happy to see what else comes out

I’m also glad hey keep bolt rifles (I just really like them)

Yeah I have to see but the "old" helmet seems a little too big for the marine, I don't know what it is. Maybe I'm wrong.

The trailer was good but nothing really amazing. The BA screamings look like something from DoW 1, they felt strange, the action was cool but really generic and they didn't resist to show us some ultramarines in there too of course.

I need to watch it more times.

Would you argue that having to roll for Warlord Traits and Psyker powers was a good thing?

I love this design style, tbh. It has a wonderful old school feel rather than being deterministic - I like a random thing leading to me finding a new narrative hook for my models, like random advancement in oldmunda/Mordheim/etc

I think it’s the gorget

I think the only things that interests me in that trailer are the Ork walker (mechanical giant squig) and the weird boy.

Everything else just seem "more of same" space marines with variations that only matter when seen close up.

I'm afraid this is not going to be the box fror me.

Also, since it'lll be brought up/has been brought up, and since I haven't met my "Well akkushually" quota yet:

John Intercessor is akkushually wearing a Mk. X helm. Only the frontal face plate with the mouth grill is older pattern. You can tell from the slanted ear design, that only Mk.X helmets have. This is actually a small detail I appreciate, since I've put out a lot of different full mark 7 helmets in my army, and there having been precious few ways to source these since their introduction with space wolf refresh.

But yeah, there's precious little mixed armor going on with this particular model.

It'll be exactly what we got with the Grey Hunters, and honestly that's grand in my book.

The landspeeder looks like the old kit to me so hopefully this is just a new model that will fit together better than the old one.

Didn't see any Gretchin in the trailer but there are plenty of little squigs. Maybe we will be getting squigs in the box too.

If this is the marine redesign, I'm very disappointed.  Had high hopes we'd get Space Wolves style redesign, but chapter neutral. Instead we're getting all the trappings of old mk X (which turned me off 40k) and just get a "member me" head slapped on.

They explicitly did not... It was LITERALLY the only thing I was listening for, and believe me, if they had said it, I would not have missed it. I've been worried about this since they announced 11th, so I've been pretty hypervigilant about it.

@sitnam 's point IS valid though, and I've already had that thought. The issue is that whenever anything is a house rule, it's harder to find people who will indulge you. I'm not sure everyone in the group at the store will be willing to use 10th ed Crusade rules shoehorned into 11th, nor am I sure that the store will be interested in letting someone run that. I'll reach out to the organizer once GW confirms for sure whether or not Crusade still exists.

If all the Codices remain valid, I don't see how the Crusade Books wouldn't as well. My take away is that they want to make the gameplay of 40k feel more narrative, with mission objectives based on terrain features and army composition, not delete the structure of Crusade.

I may be wrong, but I didn't get that vibe at all. The Crusade Books at present at essentially just an alternative mission set for the games, and then a structure to tie them together.

It’s inline with grey hunters to be fair. So you got what you hoped for.

I am not in touch with 40k but excited by the 11th edition announcement. Not sure if the contents of the box have been speculated properly yet but I am assuming the following per the trailer/boxset:

SM:

1 x Jump pack chaplain

1 x Shield Captain/Lieutenant

1 x Ancient

1 x Land speeder

10 x Intercessors 2 Electric Boogaloo

5 x Vanguard Jump Pack Intercessors

3/5 x Gravis unit with mix armour look and heavy bolters

ORKS:

1 x Warboss

1 x Nob guy

1 x ork ancient?

1 x Weirdboy

1 x Gun platform

1 x Land speeder equivalent

10 x Boyz

10-20 x Gretchin

 Other:

Terrain is likely a given based on the new rules and will likely be part of the 40k Spearhead equivalent too.

New Intercessor is fine, but doesn't go as far as I would have liked. Here's me hoping for MkIV square kneepads, MkV style pipes and bonding studs all over the place (especially on the helm!), more variety in chestplate decorations, etc, etc. We'll have to wait and see as more squad members are revealed, I guess?

Need to wait for the main reveal of the box before I commit to getting it but I’m inclined to think that the new Intercessors will be at their best as the multipart release, and not the inevitable push fits. It’s just seems to juxtapose the idea of modular armour pieces too much.

As much as the Sternguard in Leviathan were awesome, the multipart release was better. I do realize this always the case, but I’m more interested in the proper release of VanVets.

Maybe I’m just leaning to restrain myself. Now that I’ve been back in the hobby for a few years, I think the “oooh shiny” is wearing off. Excited to see the hype and reveals over the next few months though.

I didn’t watch the stream live but when you look at the amount of stuff revealed, it seems like a good showing.

So, after some thinking time:

- do not like terrain becoming -1 to hit. This is a mechanic that impacts armies in a wonky way, such as...

- ork boyz getting "all in 1 loadout". Ork shooting might as well not exist with widespread -1 to hit. But it also feels like a lazy cop out

- will other core infantry get ranged/melee options stacked ala storm guardians and assault intercessors and so on

- the terrain = objectives makes me assume the objective terrain is also double duty for combat patrol terrain ala spearhead

- this edition massively favours melee forces at a glance

- the combo detachments and detachment missions have me concerned. It might be easy to stack unintended outcomes and/or 70 being released at once is recipie for disaster imo

- beyond terrain, none of my bigger gripes for 40k are mentioned (point shrinkflation/game size, over emphasis on lethality)

Summary: meh?

The only stuff that is interesting IMHO in this reveal is the "stay tuned" invitation. Otherwise it is the typical teaser that says nothing or too few. Just enough to start raising the social network pressure up to a climax...

Our coverage of this groundbreaking new edition will begin soon, so check back with Warhammer Community each week to see what’s coming up in the next evolution of Warhammer 40,000. In the meantime, head back to the Preview hub to find out what else we revealed today – like the campaign on Armageddon that leads up to this launch box

And the changes to terrain and objectives. I wonder how this will affect the game mechanics considering the game balance as we know it with the WTC patterns and their quite heavy density of LoS blocking and terrain elements. I believe this might be a big shake up. Or at least it has the potential to be. And as such, I wonder if the Thula rule for staying on ruins is a hint of what to expect in this close future?

Objectives
No more circles.
Round objective markers are gone and replaced by terrain footprints to determine control of key locations, relics, or fortifications.

Terrain
The terrain rules have seen a big shakeup. The default bonus for cover now impacts Hit rolls, not saves, and units are generally far easier to hide than they previously were.

Its a shame the Intercessor isn't more firstborn looking, still too many MKX parts, in particular the ever present knee rims.  Blood Claws did it much better.  Hopefully the rest of the squad have a greater degree of old armour and this chap is the least modified.
