Contents and price depending I'll probably grab it. My son has just started painting orks. Assuming the launch box continues the recent trend of push fit and the minis are great, it'll be hard to resist. I can knock out the marines as crimson fists/ retro blood angels style and he/ I can paint up the orks. As orks are the faction I have most of too, this isn't going to end well (financially.)

It'll drop during summer which is my birthday and we're doing nowt else this summer...

Sounds custom made for you and your son!

Very much so. I'm hoping they do something to develop combat patrol as AoS developed spearhead. Games will be the next steps lol

i think there will be "terrain" as there is a rumour of objectives being physical terrain bits this edition,.

Ooh, that would be cool. I know that officially, the standard 40mm markers can be swapped out for a model with a 40mm base, but honestly, I'd love for any attempt to make the objectives more interesting, in both look and gameplay.

The Skaventide box came with 4 bits of terrain, for use with the Spearhead game mode but could also used with Age of Sigmar. I think it made a great addition to that box, and something similar with the new 11th edition box would work I think.

I am interested to see how much hype 11th edition garners. I'm sure it'll do well. In my play group, we have a bunch of Space Marine players and 2 Ork players, so I'm almost certain those 2 Orks players will get the launch box and split it with the 2 of the Space Marine players. I don't think there's much hype yet, I think a lot of our player base has been playing 40K for over 10 years and just wern't that impressed with 10th. I know currently there's a few in our group who are quite hyped for the Starcraft 2 table top game.

I guess it all depends on what exactly 11th adds and changes. Quite interested how they'll hype up the Orks as the big bads this go around considering how often comedic they can come across as.

Foilrak would be proud but

Mordian Glory has the rumour that in 11th objectives are actual terrain pieces.

Today

Warcom article on warhammer open attendee gifts refers to the standard 40mm round objective tokens as Poker Chip Objective Markers...a subtle but noticeable change in language (I think)

I'm not hearing anything very exciting in this edition box. TERMINATORS, Bladeguard, birth of Primaris was very exciting from the last 3 boxes. This box just seems like carry overs and rehash to me. Hours Heresy had Saturine and the biggest Dreadnought ever.

I mean I’m excited for the ork refresh that’s rumored.

im excited for the rumored new speeder as far as models.

in terms of the game and lore, im just waiting for pandemonium, and new blood angels books.

Saturnine compared with AoD was poor. From what friends and others have said too, the saturnine terms are hideous to build.

That aside, I'm curious to see the new ork stuff. Not "fussed" as I don't need anything, however, we'll see.

From a marine perspective I'm finding the prospect of mixed armour marks exciting.

It would be nice to have an Intercessor squad that looks more distinctive from my other ones, but aside from that I'm not excited for a lot.

I might skip the launch box, but that's ok.

Good place to get a bunch of subsidized plastic and a cheap but usually fancy Big Rule Book. No real reason to ever skip a launch box if your personal financials make sense.  Can always sell on stuff you don't want to keep the subsidies rolling in.

Leviathan also came with the mission pack too and skaventide with the first spearhead supplement for games right out the box.

I'm assuming/ hoping that 'Armageddon' does the same

I mean, even if you only wanted the fancy rule book you could sell both armies and get the rulebook for free basically.

Tbh, I was hoping for new (primaris?)  tactical marines.  I will admit the contents of this box, if accurate, are the least exciting of any in recent memory, but I'm 100% buying it if I'm able to.

Right, like I said there's very little reason to skip launch unless it's purely a financial decision. There's always some good stuff to be had at a subsidized price that you're not likely to find similar anywhere else, including battleforces.

We only have content rumors for what's in there so I'm holding out hope for a cool inclusion we haven't heard rumors of.

If I arent that fussed about the contents I cba to fight the herds on release personally. Especially given effort in splitting.

Assuming the rumours are true, I am interested in what exactly the big marketing point for 11th edition will be, aside from the Space Marine and Ork players getting new models. Like what exactly the killer app for this will be.

Has there ever been such a thing?

Will be interesting to see if there is a new app with 11th, hopefully they'll change their ridiculous policies on codexes. The leaked Warboss box didn't have any references to the app, and apparently the new AoS battletomes are being shipped out without any shrinkwrap - which means anyone can use the code in the shop beforehand. Maybe a sign that they'll be moving away from them shortly?
