Are we talking about the very first iteration of Age of Sigmar? When GW replaced WFB with a ruleset that was "vibes not balance, and lol we are so random, now have some extra victory points for your mustache"?

Lucky for GW, most people know that abomination is dead and gone, if they know about it at all.

That is what they mean; that pointless, stupid rules version of AOS is deader than disco. It's a much different system now and arguably a much different setting.

Rumors:

40k:

- SM get 1-2 new dreadnoughts, one with flame weapon

I know Chapter Master Abednego is suspecting that the two "separate" rumors are potentially referring to a single release, being a new Venerable Dreadnought.

I suspect he's somewhat right. But I tend to think it's just a multi-part Ballistus, since that model was already basically a single loadout update to the VenDread which specifically included a weapon option that was on the Venerable datasheet, but missing from the actual kit.

Dropping just that push-fit kit and holding back a full MPK box would give GW three more years to wring cash from the existing Venerable Dread.

You know, EXACTLY the kind of thing they would do.

Sign me up for a Venerable Redemptor - that is one Dreadnought idea I've been hoping would become a reality.

I'm not particularly thrilled by the idea of a Flamer Dreadnought, although I suspect it will perform well in the next edition if we really are un-able to target infantry outside of 15" if they are hiding in terrain.

and have not done anything in the battle yet.

I imagine the flamer on rumored flamer dreadnought will be the incedium cannon that's on the Invictor warsuit.

But will they re-release the 3rd-7th chaos marines to match? It's awful close to cross-system.

I don't pay attentive to (or care) about current Heresy lore, but I don't think the Traitor Legions of the Scouring are really in their 40k chaotic forms yet. This is before most of them retreated to the Eye of Terror

Some definitely are, they're even shown as such or part way on the siege of terra covers.

Melee units are more than happy to not shoot a few pistols if it meant they can't be shot at.

During the Scouring era the following traitor are basically the same or close to there 40k counterpart: EC, WE, DG, WB, NL, Fallen, and AL (Yes, Maybe, No, ?)

Those that will need more time to change into there 40k form would be: BL (still SOH at the time), IW (conflicted on this one), and the Thousands Sons (The Rubric of Ahriman did not occur until after they got into the eye of terror).

Mixed thoughts on the Scouring, but interesting news & some great kit opportunities if it goes forward - but probably needs to be discussed in a different thread.

I'm really excited to see what redone Meganobz look like in the modern day, bet they'll look spectacular.

I imagine late Heresy/scouring traitors are closer to their 40k counterparts, but I'd certainly hope they aren't the same. Ten millennia of living in the eye should have a profound effect upon the traitor legions.
