Felix Antipodes
The site seems to be back to normal this morning after a long weekend of Cloudflare errors (522 & 525) and timeouts. Fingers crossed it stays good. lansalt 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387474-site-taking-a-long-time-to-load-anything/page/2/#findComment-6180768 Share on other sites

Felix Antipodes Posted yesterday at 02:19 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:19 AM (edited) Time to flip the levers and apply percussive maintenance of the system again. The site is starting to slow down again (but not yet at the cloudflare error level). edit: Ironically, I got a Cloudflare error (525) while posting this Edited yesterday at 03:15 AM by Felix Antipodes Added comment Trokair 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387474-site-taking-a-long-time-to-load-anything/page/2/#findComment-6181509 Share on other sites

The changes I made yesterday makes this take less time to clear up, but don't get rid of it. Out of curiosity, this six hourly process, what time does it start? If I know that B&C is going to be slow at a regular interval then at least I know to avoid those time or not be surprised when it does not work instead of hitting refresh or giving up on any particular day. Not a tech person so no idea, but I think that part of the problem (since WrathOfTheLion mentioned the database) is to do with how much data the B&C has accumulated over the long years compared to a younger sight like TGA. Along the same lines sometimes a thread will say it has no views, but several (or many) replies, this also sounds to me like a database error were either the views are not being recorded, or not being read from the database when it loads a page. Or how the recent threads, blogs, club, etc activity side bar is sometimes several hours out of date then the threads or post in the actual location (though that might be a local cashing thing rather than a database thing). That said, if this is a problem for all sites using this set of Invision software then other sites may indeed have a workaround. Or an actual solution- but in that case I would assume it would be posted on whatever Forum for forum tech staff that I imagine is out there and/or if it is a known issue Invision will fix it....
