Time to flip the levers and apply percussive maintenance of the system again.  The site is starting to slow down again (but not yet at the cloudflare error level).

edit:  Ironically, I got a Cloudflare error (525) while posting this

Seeing that now too. I did a tactical withdrawl of the back button was able to redeploy.

Essentially, the problem is a bug in the Invision software, causing one of the automated processes that happen every six hours to slam the database and max out the server's cpu. The changes I made yesterday makes this take less time to clear up, but don't get rid of it.

Out of curiosity, this six hourly process, what time does it start?

If I know that B&C is going to be slow at a regular interval then at least I know to avoid those time or not be surprised when it does not work instead of hitting refresh or giving up on any particular day.

Is it possible that tga who run same engine found the solution? I mean they don't have same problem at all.

Not a tech person so no idea, but I think that part of the problem (since WrathOfTheLion mentioned  the database) is to do with how much data the B&C has accumulated over the long years compared to a younger sight like TGA.

Along the same lines sometimes a thread will say it has no views, but several (or many) replies, this also sounds to me like a database error were either the views are not being recorded, or not being read from the database when it loads a page.

Or how the recent threads, blogs, club, etc activity side bar is sometimes several hours out of date then the threads or post in the actual location (though that might be a local cashing thing rather than a database thing).

That said, if this is a problem for all sites using this set of Invision software then other sites may indeed have a workaround. Or an actual solution- but in that case I would assume it would be posted on whatever Forum for forum tech staff that I imagine is out there and/or if it is a known issue Invision will fix it....

It has been ok for me lately I saw the cloudflare error pop once or twice, but I have noticed directly browsing to bolterandchainsword sometimes returns a blank page, but if I go in through a search engine it loads (yes I checked for type-o's ;)

Ironically, by the time it gets bad enough to complain about (so the site techmarines can get a heads up) the site becomes so bad it is almost impossible to report it!

The site at times is becoming unusable... It took me over an hour to reply to this thread.

Similar issues from my end. Had about three Host Errors before I could even get this thread opened.

Seems to be a 50/50 chance of a page actually loading or just cutting to that and I may be low balling it there.

Even editing a post will regularly just short out and leave me starting at nothing, as if the box you'd type in has been squished and then a good chance of deploying a 'this post can no longer be edited' error after the fact.

All of the above has gone from a frequent problem to constant.

This SSL Handshake is more difficult to complete than a Nueral Handshake between Rangers piloting a Jaeger in Pacific Rim.

Maybe I'm not drift compatible with B&C.

My co-pilot chased rabbits through the drift and got lost.

I'm having serious issues with this as well, It's taking about five minutes to load when it does work and then I have to wait for a couple of minutes before it will open the reply window.

It's mostly having problems connecting and I can't upload attachments like images. The site is pretty much unusable for me most of the time.

It's taken ten minutes to just get this far.

So the site has been virtually unusable due slowness and 522 errors for who knows how long. Can we expect this issue to be permanently fixed at some point, or is this just how the site will be from now on?

Almost unusable today, this is only the second post I have managed to make. The total number of posts looks to be down compared to normal (although that might just be summer holiday numbers).

Site has been functionally unusable for close to a week for me now; with issues stretching back more than two - and assuming it works at all, the text chat at the bottom is inaccessible for me when I'm running AdBlock of any form, or you're subjected to... this.

Glad I am not the only one suffering this. I've been experiencing this for months. Took me best part of 15 minutes just to reply to a single post earlier on, with probably a dozen page refreshes required just to get the comment form to actually load. Various 525 and 500 errors, and just dog-slow loading anyway.

Is there something that we, as users, can do? For example, is it a bandwidth/hardware/software matter, so migrating to a different server will fix the issue? Is it a financial matter so donating and helping with migrating (if the reason we're not migrating to a different server is financial) will solve this?

As a new user I can only speak for myself, but I have noticed less traffic for a while now, but I'm not sure if this is because of summer holidays, as @Karhedron mentioned, or if people simply stopped visiting to avoid frustration.

This is my question as well. I don't post much but do like visiting; unfortunately I have stopped visiting as often because the site is very slow.
