Craig
I was looking at some old Mark Gibbons artwork and realised that some of the recent character releases have been based directly on them. Fabius Bile, Mephiston, Asmodai, Azrakh the Annihilator etc. are all copy/paste from the artwork. As GW are obviously using old artwork for inspiration I was wondering what people would like to see make the jump from paper to plastic. For me, one of my favourite as a kid was the Epic 40k box art with the Blood Angels captain. I would love to pick up this guy as a model and think that it would translate really well. What artwork would you like to see inspire future models? gideon stargreave
This is my response every time someone asks what model I want. This, just this. I love it so much I’ve made a conversion of it twice Xenith 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387481-which-artwork-would-you-like-to-see-as-a-model/#findComment-6153588 Share on other sites
Ming the Merciless
Pretty much anything Mark Gibbons has done, the World Eater with chainsword and clenched power fist springs to mind (ye olde 2nd ed metal mini armed as described dos'nt count). Blanche's style of artwork has never appealed to me, always thought of it as scruffy and dirty, no matter how creative the images were. Trokair
An updated Nemesis Dreadknight based on the artwork in the codex when it was first introduced. Where it was more like a Exo-skelton/suit addition to a Terminator than the harness infront with the legs hanging oddly. The Sisters of Battle Paragon warsuites (while having their own issues) are much closer to that idea than the actual dreadknight kit in how the pilot is intergrated into the suit. sitnam 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387481-which-artwork-would-you-like-to-see-as-a-model/#findComment-6153623 Share on other sites

Magos Takatus
Damn.... that's a really difficult one... I would have said Mephiston, but his update happened, and it was Pretty much perfect. I guess I've always liked this pair. They aren't particularly special for Tech Priests, It's mainly nostalgia and atmosphere that make me like this one. Also this one, just because I miss the guy. Felix Antipodes
There is plenty of 40K artwork that I love. Not sure there are many I’ve wanted converted into a model, but I really like the Inquisition Wars trilogy of covers by Clint Langley and there are several of the early WD covers I have often thought of attempting as a diorama. This might change if I could get a look inside Jes Goodwin’s sketchbooks. I think it might be, or at least it's implied it's Tu'Shan. Hoping now we've got two Salamanders characters we get to see an actual Tu'Shan model come out, and that he's rocking a suitably oversized flaming sword with melta canisters on the side. Captain Idaho
Trying to find the pics online but struggling... but 2nd edition Chaos section in Codex Imperialis (probably the single greatest Codex ever) there's a skeleton clad Chaos boy art. Old school White Dwarf converted him I believe. And Codex Ultramarines which had a great picture of Tigurius not being mystique or anything no - covered in powerful surging lightning and a different character. Those pics.
