How would you paint amaranth?

Doomfire magenta over a zenithal prime with a few drops of medium to thin. 

 

 

 

also fun fact, in one of the black books the Alpha legion are reported wearing Amaranth colour armour.

I’m not asking for a recipe for color, I’m asking about how to paint the color, I’m asking how to paint the flower in an easy, repeatable manner.

ah understood. 

Id recommend a process something like this. 

Start with a darker redder magenta and sponge on a circle. 

Then take a lighter purple like emperors children and use a technique called two brush blending to draw out the spikey pattern. 

 

Two brush blending is basically where you put a little paint in one spot then use a second dry brush to pull it down and blend it. 

 

Its kind of a mid point between layering and drybrushing.
