Correct me please. We have 20 bodies with t3 - cadians blob + t3 command squad + ogryn bodyguard t6. According to rules commentary

Spoiler

Unit’s Toughness Characteristic: If an Attached unit contains models with different Toughness characteristics, for the purpose of determining that unit’s Toughness characteristic, use the highest Toughness characteristic amongst that unit’s Bodyguard models. If a non-Attached unit contains models with different Toughness characteristics, for the purpose of determining that unit’s Toughness characteristic, use the highest Toughness characteristic amongst all of that unit’s models. In either case, When resolving attacks against such a unit, determine that unit’s Toughness characteristic when it is selected as a target.

We get 26 T6 bodies Instead of t3? Is it right?

I don’t think so. The Cadian Shock Troops are the non-attached squad; they only have T3 models. The Ogryn Bodyguard is part of the attached squad; the Command Squad is T6. I think you can still assign attacks to the attached Command Squad, thus benefiting from T6, but then have to take any damage on a model from the Command Squad.

Hm, wording in rules as always...

There is part of

ATTACHED UNITS Some Character units have the Leader ability (pg 39), which lets them merge with other units (known as Bodyguard units) to form an Attached unit.

So technically all models in that blob are attached unit.

It's t3.  The Cadians are the "Bodyguard" unit because, despite his name Ogryn Bodyguard is not a bodyguard unit.  He joins the Command Squad as a member of that unit at the beginning of the battle, and then that squad is attached to it's Bodyguard, the Cadians.  Then you refer to the rule you mentioned;

"Unit’s Toughness Characteristic: If an Attached unit contains models with different Toughness characteristics, for the purpose of determining that unit’s Toughness characteristic, use the highest Toughness characteristic amongst that unit’s Bodyguard models."

Once the Cadians are all dead, then yes, your command squad would be T6 for as long as the Ogryn Bodyguard remains.

The bodyguard's true purpose is to give a FNP 4+ to a leader to help counteract precision.  It's intent is not to increase the toughness of an entire squad.

My concern is the OBG isn’t part of the Bodyguard unit. It’s attached to the Command Squad, not “led” by Command Squad. The Command Squad leads the CST. As pointed out, the led squad is the Bodyguard unit.

Correct; the Ogryn Bodyguard is never part of any bodyguard unit; that's why you use the Cadians until they die.  Then the Command squad+Ogyrn Bodyguard become their own unit, and then the 2nd half of Kaba's quoted rule comes into effect.

It's only confusing because of the Ogryn's name.  He's never a bodyguard unit, despite it being in his name.
