I like those terminator Librarians. I wonder on price point and date?

Current libby in termie armor is 34€, while Blood angels libby in termie armor is 29,50€
Captain is 37€ as is Ancient and other current day Terminator armor characters. Chaos units vary from 26€ to 51,50€

Propably something close to 35-38€ i´m guessing per one.

The article reads like the old Captains will be released as a set,

First up, you’ll be able to pick up a set of four metal Captains from the Ultramarines, Space Wolves, Dark Angels, and Blood Angels Chapters.

which I hope isn't the case. I would like the Blood Angels one and have no use for the other 3. I think a lot of people would be in the same situation, with only really wanting one or two of them, but having to buy the whole set.

I do quite like most of these, although I'm not sure if I'd rather get these, or (based off checking a few of the prices at least, not sure on them all though) pay £10 - £15 to get them from Ebay that is the actual release from years ago with the classic parts like the correct backpacks. Although I do have some of the classic 2nd edition bolters and backpacks I could use, I suppose.

It is the case, made-to-order items are typically grouped together into sets.

Time to find someone to split the set with, then.

Nice! I love the old Terminator Chaplain (enough that I bought one on eBay a while back!) and I could very much fancy getting the metal Librarian. I hope those at least are individual releases, though then again the Chaplain sculpt is nice enough I wouldn't be terribly sad to have an extra.

Not sure about these having had another look.

Captain set i'd be interested in, but based of the photo it seems 2 of them don't come with capes for some reason. Strange considering the other 2 do.

1 out of 3 of the terminators is going to be resin, which is a shame.

Armour through the ages set is unfortunately with them resin rather than metal.

This is a great reminder of how far the models have come. This stuff carries great nostalgia but the quality of these models is very poor by modern standards.

Some of the models have aged a lot better -  Telion still looks decent.

The plastic Teminator Librarians are ok, especially the one with the Storm Bolter, but these are more recent sculpts anyways.

That set of captains might be reasonably priced - they ended their run at about £5 each in the early 90's, so inflation would price them at around £12.50 each now - £50-60 would represent reasonable value.

I'm hopeful because several of the original WFB metal characters have made it back to TOW priced at £9 - witch hunter, branchwraith, chaos champion, orc shaman etc.

I guess if you're talking about the Captains maybe, as they are very old (IMO that's part of the charm) but the metal Terminator Librarian and Chaplain still hold up in all respects aside from maybe size. And even then, I have found that era of metal Terminator looks pretty good next to modern Marines; the Chaplain is basically the same height as the newer, bigger guys. If you need your Termies to be absolutely gargantuan even by Astartes standards, I guess they might look a bit small, but then again the newer Terminators are ridiculously large, begging the question if TDA comes with platform shoes as standard...

Also the metal Terminator Chaplain wins by default over the plastic one as he has an actual skull helmet rather than the silly hockey mask of the new one.

I think you'll find that's the "Rosy Retrospection" talking. We have a bias towards things that we liked during our formative teen years and early 20s. It's a well documented psychological phenomenon.

My local scene is a melting pot of new and old hobbyists, I'm actually one of the older ones, much to my chagrin. I'm telling you - the newer collectors who joined in the last 5 or so years do not see old models like this in any kind of favourable light. We've actually had many discussions on the topic. They find the whole "Firstborn defence league" to be comical at best, but more often is just irksome and tedious, and older kits like this have little appeal to them. Some do show an interest in collecting olderr stuff as well just because they like having a historical collection that accounts for more time periods.

They're welcome to be completely wrong if they want!

That aside, anecdotal "well my friends don't like older models" doesn't really mean a whole lot. Objectively though- aside from being a touch shorter than a modern Terminator (which even aside from the debate on whether the new Termies are too big is an unfair criticism as had he been bigger he would have stuck out like a sore thumb next to his contemporaries), what is objectively bad about that Chaplain? You're talking him down like he's a really goofy or clumsy sculpt and frankly I don't see it. There's older models I don't like, and newer models I do, so it's not just nostalgia/grognardism speaking.

Speaking of anecdotal, most people on this forum are older hobbyists.

if you want to be more objective, the best way to look at the hobby is just how successful GW have been since 8th edition and the introduction of Primaris.

I find particularily the one plastic librarian to be grating... his arm and neck just don't make sense whatsoever.

I wish I could stick the terminator chaplain head of the old model on the new body.
