First off I don't have pictures.. yet. Just a launch story of what I hope will be a long, fruitful thread of the SOB in terms of hobby and games.

Secondly, with the decades I've been playing, and time on the BnC how on earth did I end up here?

Long story short I was bouncing between marine army to marine army. Rebuilding giant armies I had sold 4-6 times over (CSM, Wolves, UM, etc). And I had been playing a lot of the new Necrons since I have an extremely large, painted army of them dating back years.

So fast forward I'm trying to challenge myself, and I have a friend who really wanted a strong assault army, and he had been having a real ROUGH time with his SoB. So I was going to sell my World Eaters, and he has always loved mine, so I offered a trade.

I don't want this to get too long, but suffice to say we did the trade. I never thought I'd be playing SoB, ever. My friends was super frustrated with them, and I wanted a challenge. Now here we are 2 games in, I've somehow won both my games. I got a lot of broken stuff though, so I bought a couple of more pieces, and just added to the collection. Another friend offered me more SoB! (He also says he'll never touch them again!)

I have to be honest, I'm just surprised how much I like the aesthetic, and the playstyle. Yes it is a bit of a 'hard' mode game wise, but I like it.

So I will post some of my own painted pics soon. Looking forward to sharing some game/mini-batreps too.

Welcome to the Adepta Sororitas & Ecclesiarchy, @Prot!

I personally have been a long time fan of Sisters of Battle and love the models! It is always good to see new members joining the ranks.

Are you planning on a custom order, one of the big 6 Orders?

I look forward to seeing what you have planned in the future!

As a spectator who has enjoyed seeing the many armies you’ve posted on the B&C over the years, I’m looking forward to seeing your take on the Sisters.

What’s been the biggest adjustment you’ve had to adapt to in play style compared to your marines?

Thank you. Since I largely traded for a mostly painted army, I'm just sticking with what's there... mostly just the black look, with flashes of red.

For me I admit I'm trying to get the army to a decent table standard. The previous owner was a bit abusive to the models, and every time I go to repaint any of it, I seem to have a 'repair job' ahead of me. So I don't want to this to bog me down too much and I'm sticking to the original scheme.

The models are amazing for sure. Enough so that I bought some new stuff to add to the trade deal. :)

Thanks for the compliment! That's a good question. I guess just running out to mid and challenging my opponent! lol That for sure is the challenge here. I mean stuff that's T3 just disappears. Also I am finding most of the army slightly overcosted in most cases. I use the comparison of 5 Intercessors to 10 standard Sisters Batlte squad...  It's just night and day for the cost, wound count, effective threat, survivability, and function. Both sticky objectives, and have a 3+ save, then they differ a lot.

My wins have come from a MUCH cagey-er playstyle.

Nothing amazing to show but I did pick up Junith and a second Hospitalier and painted them up fairly quickly. Great additions to the army.

Okay so I've been painting a ton in my spare time. Trying to repair models from the trade, and trying to do a decent table top quaility job. The army has been really fun to play, and paint however the level of detail on the models can make for a real rabbit hole that can slow you down. So I've tried to keep things simple to maintain a good pace to get these on the tabletop!

lol. So true. Anything beats all that chaos banding.

I just love the look and feel of the army. I’m just about finished the unpainted model lot and before I repaint or replace the other stuff I’m already considering adjustments.

I have not been happy with Exorcist tank. I’m thinking of pulling up 2 Castigators. Maybe build one of each turret load out. I hope they are basically interchangeable turrets for extra options.

Yes the weapons on the castigator turret are interchangeable. It is separate mantles so pretty easy to magnetize. I am planning on running 3 in my project but all are gonna be the twin Autocannons a majority of the time.

I think the exorcist is over costed for its use. And as I am building mine as rapid response force, the exorcist loses out to the castigator in value and support needs

  • 2 weeks later...

Sacresants!  I repaired 5 I got in a trade then bought a box to have a full 10. I almost always use the unit in every game. Pretty much essential to me.
