hd3
Everyone keeps telling me how great this contrast paint is. But I can't get the pigment ti actually mix through the bottle even though I bought a brand new one and a proper paint shaker. Do I need to add ball bearings too? Has anyone else had this problem with this contrast paint? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387629-apothecary-white-help/ Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
There's a few pf the 1st Gen Contrast paints that separate in the pots. Apothecary White, Dark Angels Green, Space Wolves Grey are all effected by this, and bget that chalky build up on the bottom of the pot after a few days. I chose glass mixing balls, as I'd seen a cautionary review where cheaper metal mixing balls had started to rust in the pots. I was concerned about the glass breaking in the pot when shaking, especially with pots with two beads, but it's been multiple years and that hasn't eventuated as of yet. I have a single bead in every pot I own, and two in the worst offenders. BadgersinHills
I've used bits of sprue as agitators and they seem to work well. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387629-apothecary-white-help/#findComment-6159034 Share on other sites
Firedrake Cordova
Tamiya make stainless steel paint stirrers, which can be quite effective. Otherwise, I'd add a stainless steel ball bearing (e.g. AK Interactive's) I don't own Apothecary White, but the above have worked with similar symptoms from other paints.
