Montoya
I've been really struggling with subterranean assault. I have tried several different detachments (reapers wager, Spectacle of spite, kabalite) and am yet to even come close in a game. Any advice? I've gotten better at keeping them pushed back for the first couple of turns, but by turn 3 the engine just starts rolling over me. Galron
What part of the Nids force is giving you issues? I most commonly play against invasion fleet nidzilla and I have to tailor any list for any of my factions to fight him(he doesnt mind, he freely admits he will cheese his force to the max). Also what are you bringing to the table? Montoya
the subterranean assault is the detachment where reavers can burrow within 9" and then deploy something else that doesn't normally deepstrike up the tunnel but within 6" of you, and they can still assualt if they do. Last game I brought Archon with infiltrator network Malys Succubus (only because i had 50points left over, so just as an action monkey) 2 kabalite warrior squads (both split by venoms) Hand of the Archon (split by venom with melee once with Malys) 4 Venoms 2 Chronos 2 Mandrakes Incubi (to go with Archon) 2 squads of 3 jetbikes with heatlances 2 ravagers with Dissintigrators 2 scourges with Dark lance 1 scourge with heat lance Did okay, but still lost. Part of my issue is I didn't press enough with my venoms, so couldn't hold the objectives. In hindsight, too many infiltrators to actually get use out of. So next time i'm thinking second squad of incubi and second Archon with Webway awl. Drop one mandrake squad. Drop the succubus and Drop a Chronos. Galron
I agree. Whats his name, the inucbi character, might be beneficial as well instead of an archon. If I remember he give dev wounds? I know with my friends nidzilla list I have had my only success with just bringing extreme firepower. By extreme, its to the point the list was boring and I wouldnt play it against someone else. In your case, seeing as how he is in your face pretty quick, how about Lilith and some wyches plus a Solitare? Dev wounds are great vs all the ridiculously tough and invulnerable units in the nid army. It looks like you have speed so think about doing more deep striking and strategic reserves while your melee force is screened by the kabalites. I do think you need Lilith and wyches in this case or bring a Harlequin troup and master for the mass dev wounds and let them be your punch unit when he DSs into your side of the field.
