Waaagh, I say.

I understand why they're showing this now, with the leaks and all, but I'm intrigued and confused about this:

You'd think the Ork reveals would start at AdeptiCon alongside Yarrick, the Armageddon book, and 11th's reveal, and then continue after, so what will they be revealing just a couple weeks before the event, entirely on their own initiative?

Well there are 4 ork releases on the way ( not amount of kits, but "waves" )

-- Armageddon campaign book will feature orks, we had the rumor of at least 1 epic hero for them.

-- Kill team will feature orks, Boole's Aeldari vs orks or Chaos implies that is the next one up. ( and I do think there is a box in this season yet )

-- 11th starterbox will feature Orks

-- the 11th edition Ork codex later this year very likely features Orks. ( not rumor though, but its the way it always goes )

Apart from that last one, each of those should be revealed relatively soon I think, maybe GW considered it too much ork and they where going to build up the ork side of Armageddon before the reveal show ( so the show focus is on yarrick and friends.. remember there is quite alot of rumors open on Imperium side, not just the tanks )

I think Kill team would be AdeptiCon ( just so they have another game featured on the tag )

Though I can absolutely live with the kill team being Monday especially if it confirms or debunks exodites Kill team rumor even if through a subtle hint.

I don't dislike them, I think the detail on them both is pretty good, but something about them both seems off? For some reason they just have a strange vibe to them, as if they aren't the GW Orks we know.

I think they're altering the proportions, similar to when the marines got Primaris'd.  So the head's smaller, the arms are a little shorter, and things in general are less exaggerated than they used to be.

It does seem like this might be it, for both. The Grot seems to have a much larger chin and wider mouth than usual, and the Warboss seems more noticably wide but with shorter, thinner arms.

Did 10th have a dedicated reveal stream only for announcing the edition with no other systems/settings in it? They could do only 11th in Adepticon so the focus is in the new edition.

Those dedicated previews with the whole box contents were seperate from the big event previews ( and often if not always a bit later than AdeptiCon.. late April/may ish)

10th had AdeptiCon mostly a focus on the new edition as a game, new rules etc, showing only a terminator and gaunts as well as the big animation. ( last AoS one didn't even show any new miniatures yet )

A lot of usual "patterns" have been abandoned though so deviation is possible.

But personally I think AdeptiCon won't be the 11th edition box set focus, nor will it be exclusively 40k.

If I remember 10ths reveal, the show was split amongst the systems (not all of them but AoS was definitely there) the adepticon show is 2 hours long so 11ths reveal will likely be half of that at most.

Looks like my A.I detector is still working then. Looks nice enough to me, but the grot is the best thing though.

To who ever asked about new grot rumours:

Yes! They're supposed to be in the launch box

Decent, but doesn't blow me away. As others have said, the axe arm and the unhelmeted head look a bit small, though IMO the helmet and klaw versions alleviate that somewhat. Still, overall it's not bad, but it's lacking some of that over-the-top-ness that I love in Orks, just feels a bit oddly restrained for a race where that's very much not the vibe.

It feels to me more like an Ork Warboss by committee (kommittee?) rather than an expressive piece by someone passionate about the race.

Yeah if anything AoS might get the lion's share in comparison if Cities of Sigmar and/or Eshin show up in full force. And an event like AdeptiCon will never have just one game system for the entire preview. They do smaller online reveal shows for that when needed. AdeptiCon tends to be where GW do one of their biggest reveal shows any given year, making it a one-system show would be insane and make a lot of people angry.

40k-wise, following the pattern of previous AdeptiCons, we'll most likely see the last campaign book, the models associated with it, and then 11th will be revealed with probably a cinematic trailer that may show a lot of what's in the box, but we'll not see the full extent of the launch box's contents in the flesh plastic. Maybe a unit/model for each side, with the rest being revealed later.

Second look over, it's "fine" but not mind-blowing. Personally it feels as though it's lacking character. I wish they'd start doing clan related stuff and go a bit more nuts with them. The New eldar characters look amazing and as a non eldar player, mind blowing. This, much like the late Ed data slate, just feels low effort.

I like it, I will get one. The ammo runt is 10/10. I feel like the boss is about an 8/10 - the klaw is great but the axe is meh, and the ironjaw head is good but the horned head looks off. Possibly the right combination of parts elevates it to a 9/10. The proportions are a bit weird though, and it makes me worry how the redone ork boyz are going to look - if they've primarisified/new cadianified them, I might not be able to add them to my existing models. And I am SO looking forward to having new orks to build.

And here is the confirmation.

Great model, and the Grot looks really good.

Honestly it would be dope to get a unit of grots that look like that.

Orks were my first army when I entered the hobby back in 2008-2009. Eventually drifted over to Guard over the years, but if 11th really does end up being the ork edition, I might just be coming back home.

Pretty solid looking model, all things considered. Does what it needs to. Really love the ammo runt, though.

It’s…eh. Like a lot of new Orks, it’s just not very much fun. There’s just none of the character and oomph that came out of the metal 3rd Ed Warboss. I’m going to miss the Bryan Nelson style very, very much.

Nice Grot, tho.

I'm not sure what your metric of fun is, but I don't really agree on most new releases. The Beast Snagga infantry wasn't particularly inspiring to me, but the Wrecka Krew, Kommandos, Squig Riders, and buggies all seem flavorful and fun

I agree about the arm, but the Klaw fixes the issue for me.

I think the claw makes it look even smaller haha. Plus that claw doesn’t even look right. It’s too curved. I prefer the older, straighter, more boxy claws. They looked more industrial and stronger.

I'm not a huge fan of the grey/green paint scheme for the skin they seem to like but I do like the potential of this model a lot.

It doesnt have the 'fun' vibe of old in these pictures but I still like it for what it is and I think with a warmer paint scheme and a good amount of gubbins strapped onto it it may get there.
