Hey chaos spawn and scum

ive finally gotten around to painting my EC, and I want to take them out for a spin at a local 1500 pt tourney.

I really REALLY want to use fulgrim, but a lot of people have been saying due to

his base size, it makes him non viable for most competitive games, and deepstriking him risks failing that 9” charge when you need it.

I’m considering running a winged DP, Lucius solo to guard my tormentors in the midboard, couple of tormentors and noisey boys in rhinos with lord kakz. And of course, fulgrim.

in the Phoenician detachment

I don't have a Fulgrim myself, so cannot offer personal advice. The common complaint is that his base size, combined with the focus on getting into combat, can make things tricky (as he'll sometime find himself too big to fit through certain gaps). This is alleviated by Court of the Phoenician giving him a free move-through-terrain Strat, and (alternatively) the cheaper reroll-hits/wounds-vs-Characters Strat helps prevent him from whiffing once he's there. (His 'Daemonic Poisons' can also be swingy - either doing literally nothing or being absolutely devastating - which I think some "professional" players don't like.) He's also noted to not be overly survivable (especially if the enemy's guns don't have any alternative targets).

I say bring him; just bear in mind that you might have to laugh some things off.

(Also: check with the TO about his 'Serpentine' rule. It's very clearly intended to allow him to move-through-walls but is technically missing the "...as if they were not there" on the end of the sentence. As written, it just states the obvious: that Fulgrim "...can move over sections of terrain that are 4" or less in height." Which... sure, everything that has Fly can do that. It should say that he can do it without spending additional Movement going up and down, but it does not.)
