Frogian
I'd be all up for them splitting them out and just having boys/other units led by a Nob rather than a Boss Nob, then having the latter be able to attach to a load of units - but maybe its just that ork nobz are going to 40mm bases, so so is this guy even though he's just a unit leader. Bradeh
I initially thought this was a Big Boss character like 2nd edition, but it seems like it's just the Nob that comes with a Boyz kit which already is called a Boss Nob in 10th. There is rumoured to be a Big Boss and a War Boss also though. GW has been going back to old editions and bringing back units for a while now. Galron
I like it. I just hope there is a power claw option which I doubt since this will likely be push fit. I do really like what they have done with Orks the last few years model wise. But since this is the multipart kit, this is probably the post-launch-box Warboss kit, while the one in the box will probably be a unique monopose sculpt. Most likely the chain-choppa wielder from the trailer. Marshal Reinhard
1 hour ago, Laurence said: So, that helmet is officially what Mark VII's have always looked like. This actually genuinely annoys me. I feel like the article is written by someone at GW who's not down with the nitty and gritty in armor detail differences. A lot of fraters here aren't even and often conflate the face plate with the whole helmet. And now we have a GW source doing the same. I'm really excited by how the team is expanding the "'Eavy Metal" style. This choppa and the armor of the bosses in the Darkwater box have a neat, almost watercolor effect. It's like they're using "tea staining" as a stylistic choice it it looks amazing. This model design is fine, but both the color scheme and the execution are 10/10. ggergnayr 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387739-boss-nob/page/2/#findComment-6163891 Share on other sites
MoriyaSchism
I find it a bit amusing that the Boss Nob has a more sensible and realistic machinegun than the Stub Gunner from the new Cadian kill team. I like the detail of the ammo belt not being disintegrating. That poor Cadian is getting a forearm full of hot brass with every shot. brother_b, Brother Casman, Kommisar_K and 1 other 1 1 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387739-boss-nob/page/2/#findComment-6163893 Share on other sites

It's hard to argue it's unrealistic when it's something that was actually used. The variant of M1919 they were built off of were convertible for left or right hand feed (so while it's probably not advisable to have that right hand feed, it's realistic).
