All of these have been available on GOG for years, and I seem to recall them also being either free or at least cheaper there at some point.

Battlefleet Gothic Armada and the Dawn of Wars also never went away, so no Return.

At least Space Hulk is back, though. The devs literally couldn't keep paying GW for the license extension, and went bankrupt.

These have all been on GOG forever and on sale for pennies. Most were given away for free in White dwarf a couple years ago. Not really sure what the big deal is.

And dark chaplain has pre-empted my thoughts. :D

FYI, Space Hulk's return also comes with a free update for previous owners on Steam. The three DLC Campaigns, Space Wolves Expansion and skin packs are all included for free now.

The game got a bad rep back in the day because it really is just a straight up adaptation of the board game, and folks on Steam were complaining about it not being more action focused, which is why they released a modified version subtitled "Ascension" a while later, which bent the rules a bit to give a more dynamic experience. This has also returned.

Well, they still had the license expire and went bankrupt...

One game that hasn't returned in this wave is Eisenhorn: Xenos, which was.... pretty bad and never got followed up on. Probably another licensing issue.

Also still gone is the Lane Defense game Storm of Vengeance, which adapted the Piscina IV Dark Angels stuff. It was sort of a reskin of the developer's original IP mobile game, and pretty rough, and again, expired license.

Regicide, a loose adaptation of Chess with Space Marines and Orks and such (with a few gimmicks) also remains shut down and unavailable. Went from 2015 til finally getting taken offline in 2022 after one final tournament.

Well, that's a nice touch. I had all of the campaign DLCs from a Humble Bundle bundle, so I guess I get the skin packs that I didn't think were worth it. It's worth noting that the re-release does not include the Mac or Linux versions, which are available via the Legacy version.

Of course, that's why I liked the game. Different tastes/expectations, I guess.

Interesting; didn't realize these were on GOG. Not sure which is the better bet, I know a lot of these games need effort to work on modern machines, though then again GOG got the original Ultima to work, so...

Regardless, I do want to play Fire Warrior at some point. My understanding is it's not very good, but interesting to play.

It's a pipe dream at this point, but I had a great time with the old Imperial Knight mobile game. Could be fun on PC, especially if they added in the new knights that have been released since.

Freeblade? If so, i there is a PC port, but it's only on the Microsoft store from what I've seen. https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9mwtnmbb5hz1?hl=en-GB&gl=GB

Haven't played for a few years, but it used to work offline, probably still does (not sure if the servers are still up)? None of the newer knights though, sadly. I agree that could revitalise the game, though I could see the Dominus knights forming a meta if not carefully done - the volcano lance could be deadly in the PVP mode.

By coincidence I downloaded it about a month ago. Much less fun than I recall. There's a PVP mode  which was added since I last played but which seems impossibly hard.

I have great memories of the original Dawn of War. That opening cinematic loves rent free in my head as does most of the voice acting.

Crazy to think it when it came out I didn't even know what mental health was and now I'm practically family with the staff at my nearest mh hospital.
