Lots of good stuff. I feel that the general “bigger Orks” anatomy has become slightly more blocky somehow (i.e. they look more like big rectangles with arms and legs than previously) and I’m not really sold on the walker. But I really like everything else!

Very serious and "scary" orks just how I like them, a true xenos menace and not some goofy buffons.

If I have to say, I don't really like the shoulder pads of the bigboss, other than that these are very amazing models.

These are really, really nice. The Boyz look great (though I will have to buy every box of oldstyle Boyz I can before they get retired, I love the old Boyz kit), all the characters look excellent, the Wartrakk is superb, the Dakkarig, whilst probably the weakest link, is still very cool (I like the "massive robot squig" angle) and the grots! The GROTS!

A bit curious as to what happened to the Runtherd though...

Everything looks fantastic - though when they showed the old wartrakk, I do kinda like the less detailed, less over-the-top-orky vehicle style. i think its all the odd angles on the armour plates that I mainly don't like.

In terms of contents I do also kinda feel it's missing another squad on foot. I'd have taken some Nobz or burnerboys or lootas, instead of the second lot of boyz if possible. This might also be related to the fact I'm just starting out with orks, and mainly just have boyz and grots so far (and some brekaboyz/tankbusters from KT)

Regardless, I'll be getting the box and excited to see what else comes out.

I am really impressed by this set. The banners, grots and some of the faces of the Orks give a real pre-3rd edition vibe to some of the Orks. I wasn't too impressed when I heard there was going to be a Wartrakk and I was a bit disappointed to hear about a gun chair instead of a Mega dread but after seeing the models I'm actually pretty impressed. The Gunrig looks like something 16-bit Dr. Robotnik would dream up if he was an Ork. I almost want an Ork with a hair squig moustache as a result.

The only part of this I'm not impressed with is the painboy. Not that I think that it's bad, just that I think it's competent but not amazing.

I was intending to buy one box to paint up and sell but now I'm thinking about keeping a set for myself too.

I say this as a lifelong marine only player...I want to keep the ork half and sell the marines

Painting hack for people concerned, ork armour is not known for its neatness (of paint), and orks would for sure be covered in blood, gore, oil, burns, mud, vomit etc so painting mistakes can be covered up

Wagh I say, wagh

Is the ork in the foreground on bike? Mega armor Warboss because of the grot? Lootas?

Can't answer your other questions, but to me it looks like the driver of a wartrack, with the missile launcher (and gunner) at kind of a wierd angle behind him.

All the talk about a potential Grot box made me think of something mad. Imagine if for 11th Edition when the Necron and Tyranid codices get announced the only new miniatures end up being a boxes of ripper and scarab swarms.

I am by far and away the most excited for the ork half! I dread to think how many infantry models this will take me up to.

I am looking forward to the eventual Hachette release too to swell the ranks even more

Kind of hoping that there is either a lot of spare back mounted shootas/kit or they do an upgrade kit we can use on existing boyz models as this will help tie in old and new together  well

Not so sure of the Dakkarig. I dont dislike it but I feel its a bit random / unnecessarily new for the sake of it.

....I also dont like the comparison they make to Deff dreads in case this is a warning sign that they are trying to move away from them in favor of these

I don't think classic Dreadz are going away. This new Dakkarigg looks a bit like the SM Ballistus Dread from 10th edition. It is a fire support unit but also a walker with minimal melee capabilities.

I feel pretty much the same. I can't quite put my finger on why, though.

I mean, I like the concept (who wouldn't?!?) and I want to like the model, but it just ends up feeling a bit "eh, I could take it or leave it" to me.

For someone starting out with Orks (I only have the 9th edition CP with the copters and dread) and not yet having the codex is there an advantage to the old 11 figure kit?  I’m not a big fan of having lots of separate weapons to faff around with so atm having a gang of boyz with the same weapons appeals.
