Announced at Skulls.

For the Emperor and Super Earth!

Nothing shown what will be in it. But they are painting Krieg, Cadians, and Kasarkin in the video.

I do believe they're ONLY painting Kasrkin, but I think the models they show on the table that aren't in painter hands are all a bit tough to make up.

Every model that is having paint applied to it is part of the Kasrkin kill team box.  Leading me to believe it'll be Kasrkin themed Warbond, which does give us some insight into what weapons are possibly coming.  I'm thinking Long Las (the caped Kasrkin wields one), a melta gun (the first guy shown has one) and then maybe a melta mine as a new grenade?

Any way it shakes out, very excited. Seems like a no brainer cross over for HD.

They need some good PR after the community bullied a person doing a charity out of their regular job and the devs shugged.

Honestly stopped playing when I realized the players of now take it seriously and not as satire

Devs constantly adding stuff to game via paid warbonds to fix issues before, is not good idea either.

See: Flame weapons, mechs, etc

Chaos Gate Deathwatch was a nice surprise to be sure, the original was a brilliant modern xcom redux. Most other things were expected, like the darktide skitarii that had been datamined to the warp and back.

I like helldivers well enough, gotten my money's worth a hundred fold, but this will pretty much just be a couple of cool skins and 1 or 2 weapons. Probably wont hold my interest for too long, but it's a good idea for collab warbond if there ever was one.

I think they've said before it wouldn't be space marines. I'm a big fan of the game, still playing from the HD1 days. I think the Kashrkin are the most likely candidates. I think a lot would prefer krieg but I've seen people proxy those in game with existing kits.

Most likely Kasrkin, but part of me would like to see a sneaky insertion of the Elysian Drop Troops.

I've been meaning to give Helldivers 2 a go for a while, I've heard the game isn't doing as well as it was but perhaps this might tip me into giving it a go.

I misread the title as warband initially. I haven’t played Helldivers so can someone explain what a warbond is please? Is it a term specifically for a crossover like this? Thanks.

A warbond in Helldivers 2 is basically a mini-battlepass that is initially purchased with Super Credits* and then has it's individual content unlockable by medals which are awarded for playing the games personal and major orders. Normal warbonds cost 1000 SC, while these premium ones usually cost 1500 SC.

*a premium currency, which can be bought for real money, or farmed as a random drop in game.

Warbonds are a sort of DLC that is bought with an earnable in-game premium currency (supercredits) that can also be purchased with real currency. They're usually themed to sometimes specific, like chemical warfare, or electrical weapons. Arrowhead has done a few of these collaborations though. Killzone and Halo being the ones that I 'bought'.

Warbonds themselves are usually two armor types, another couple of capes to go with the armor (capes are a big thing in the game), about three weapons, some profile backgrounds (based on the cape's design) and sometimes things like vehicle skins, profile titles, new stratagems, or grenade types. All items are bought with another in-game currency (medals) from the unlocked warbond page.

Honestly, I'm somewhat looking forward to this, if they theme it right, the game already has las weapons that feel guard like, so might as well lean into it.

What makes the Helldivers 2 warbonds so much better than something like a battle pass/season pass found in other live service games is that the content is permanent.

All Warbonds are available, and not time limited, so there is no FOMO or pressure to play the game. You enjoy it according to your own schedule and not what the developers dictate.

The previous "Premium Warbond" for Halo had two armour sets with capes. Four Weapons, cosmetics for vehicles and your pod. A title with banners.

Killzone Warbond was a redo of a previous attempt that was not received well at all... which seems to be a pattern with Helldivers recently. It didn't have a fourth weapon but had everything else that Halo did.

So just speculating, I am hoping to see something like;

Armour 1 - Kasrkin - Medium

Armour 2 - Krieg Trooper - Light or Medium?

Weapons, Lasgun, Long Las, Melta or Plasma Gun, Bolt Pistol.

I'm not even sure what you would have for the armor passive, but it's nice to speculate.

Funnily we have both bolter and bolt pistol in game already

Dominator for rifle, Veto for pistol.
