Chaplain Kirillicus
Hey all, reserved my Armageddon box today as a starter to my blood angels army. I have a receptor dreadnought implant to kit bash a bit to make it more blood angels-y. my question is have people found magnetizing armies at least in the arms to transfer out war gear to be worth the effort? I’m not sure if people care about what the model has compared to what you’re playing as (as long as what it does is declared) but I figured this would be the easy option to switch out stuff incase something becomes more viable than another. any thoughts? Grotsmasha
Generally, only competitve play needs WYSIWYG. However, as a collector, and non-gamer, things like the primary weapons on dreadnaughts are te type of thing I tend to magnetise. I think in the future I would like to at least be able to consider comp play so at that point I suppose magnetizing even units is probably a good idea. At least sergeants and commander level stuff right? Or I’d have to exacto the arms off for new gear? Unless I am missing something. Dr_Ruminahui
I'm a gamer who, personally, takes a fair bit of satisfaction in making sure all my units are represented accurately by their models. Generally, I don't magnetize infantry (though I have for the odd character) unless I'm cutting apart a model I've already painted when their current loadout becomes illegal - in that case, I typically will magnetize all the legal options so that I don't need to cut it apart again. Vehicles, however, I do tend to magnetize, especially vehicles with a bunch of options. For example, all my Chaos Knight weapons are magnetized, and I have done the same for most of my chaos space marine vehicle weapons as well.
