Previously, many of the (sub)forums had links to the corresponding Gallery and Blogs (sub)categories. These displayed as "subforums" and gave members immediate access to other content related to the (sub)forum. For example, members viewing the + DARK ANGELS + subforum could see all albums and images in the Dark Angels and Successors subcategory of the Gallery, or they could see all blogs in the Dark Angels and Successors subcategory of the Blogs, simply by clicking the "Albums" or "Blogs" links. We were concerned that members might not be clicking those links on the assumption that all the "Albums" links in the (sub)forums took them to the same location in the Gallery feature and that all the "Blogs" links in the (sub)forums similarly took them to the same location in the Blogs feature. So these links have been renamed "(Sub)Faction Albums & Images" and "(Sub)Faction Blogs" to make the destination clear. For example, you'll now see "Dark Angels Albums & Images" and "Dark Angels Blogs" instead of simply "Albums" and "Blogs" as the links. So if you want to see the albums/images or blogs related to a (sub)faction, it's now clear that the link will show you only that content and not the albums/images or blogs related to other (sub)factions. The "Albums & Images" verbiage may be changed to "Gallery" to shorten things.

 

We will soon be making a few other changes in the ++ FORGE: HOBBYIST CREATIVITY ++ category:

• The + WORKS IN PROGRESS + and + HALL OF HONOUR + forums will be merged into a single forum. In most cases, projects begun as topics in the WIP forum transition to topics in the HoH forum. It seems simpler to have a single forum that allows members to show off their miniatures both in progress and when completed. This won't happen until we figure out a decent plain English name for the consolidated forum.
• The + TUTORIALS AND HOW TO'S + forum will become a subforum under the + GENERAL PCA QUESTIONS + forum. This is another area where the forums lead into each other. The subforums under the Tutorials forum will retain their relationships. In the future, the Tutorials forum and its subforums will become read-only, but we need to get some articles done before that happens so that members understand how to post tutorials (i.e., as articles in the Articles feature and/or as files in the Downloads feature).
• You will also see changes to the + SPECIAL PROJECTS + forum, the + Legio Imprint + subforum, the + Fanthology + subforum, and the + Liber Showcase + subforum in the near future. The + SPECIAL PROJECTS + forum will become a moderated forum, meaning new topics/posts must be approved by a staff member before they will become visible (and there will be criteria for what is approved and what is not). Special projects will be conducted as either blogs (individual efforts) or clubs (group efforts) and the forum remaining as a place for visibility/outreach. The + Legio Imprint + and the + Liber Showcase + suborums will disappear, the first because that idea never took off and the second once those topics are converted into articles. There are some links that need to be fixed before these subforums disappear, however, so they'll remain visible for now. The + Fanthology + subforum will become a club and all topics in that subforum will be moved into the club discussion forum; and a link to the club will be present to provide visibility/access.
