Rowland Posted June 16 Share Posted June 16 (edited) Guys, I don’t like the Chaplain models. Unfortunately I’m making a Chapter that fights like Blood Angels and requires a figure for a Chaplain. I really dislike the Chaplain model. I would rather have something like a Librarian in Phobos armour or a bladeguard ancient (chop the banner about to make a crozius) to represent my Chapters Venerable brothers. I like YGWYS regarding weapons. Got any ideas. N.B Bladeguard ancients appear to be discontinued and they’re a bit too “embellished” for my Austere, Zenlike Chapter. W.A.Rorie Posted June 16 Share Posted June 16 Depending where you are at, the Bladeguard Ancient is available on the secondary market ie EvilBay. I am not seeing the Dawn of War: Onslaught Box on Target anymore so that set maybe discontinued as well. Also the Black Templars have an Excruciator Model that is not so embellished. Rowland Posted June 17 Author Share Posted June 17 (edited) I found a kit called Dark Angels Inner Circle Companions. They look perfect. Like the Phobos Librarian but in different poses. I’m thinking I can cut their swords off and put cocktail sticks or wire in their place with a BB gun pellet (I have 1000 white ones I bought as Tyranid eggs) On the end as a makeshift mace/crosier and snip off as much of the fluff as possible. I know it’s heresy but I don’t like all the faff the models have going on. The Librarian in phobos armour is my ideal figure but he’s already taken as my Librarian and is monopose. With the Inner Circle Companions I get three Asmodai’s for the price of one and my chapter is chaplain heavy. In addition to this my Chapter were created before the founding of the Ecclesiarchy (021.M31) so they don’t have to conform to that whole thing?…except for needing chaplains in game to keep the “black rage” at bay. Hence their further need for secrecy. I guess they’re basically Emperor worshiping heretics. Karhedron Posted July 2 Share Posted July 2 If you want a simple skull-faced helmet for your Chaplain that does not look cartoony, the Reiver helmets are a good place to look. I used one for my Blood Angels Judiciar since I do not like the odd snood head provided. Grotsmasha Posted July 2 Share Posted July 2 Good news is, it's not unprecedented for Chapters to combine roles like the Chaplain and Librarian. Wolf Priests of the Space Wolves are Apothecaries AND Chaplains. So if you were to model some Librarians with Force Weapons, and others Crozius', that should be clear enough for WYSIWYG peeps.
