Rogue Posted June 20 Share Posted June 20 Hello. I recently downloaded the B&C app. Today, when I tried to open it, I got a full-screen message saying that it needed the Chrome app to open. I have Chrome, but the app didn't open. When I went online to access the site normally, I got the same pop-up message about needing the Chrome app. At this point, I was unable to open the app, and unable to open the website. I deleted the app, but that didn't solve the website issue. I restarted my phone (Samsung S20, Android, Chrome), and can now access the website normally. I've not tried reinstalling the app. Thanks. Lord_Ikka Posted June 23 Share Posted June 23 I've also gotten a pop-up prompt to install the B&C app when on Chrome. This, along with a couple of other regular sites I visit that have also prompted me to download their apps (when those sites also don't have apps) make me think that it is either a malicious actor, or some sort of auto-program that Chrome has set up that is not functioning the way it should: acting like certain sites have an app and prompting you to download said app without the app being able to be linked due to it not existing. I would advise anyone to not download any app via prompts/pop-ups. I've deleted the app (I thought I had earlier, but I'd just removed it from the home-screen) and as soon as I came back into the site via Chrome, I saw this pop-up again: I don't know if you can do anything about it, but that's what I saw previously. I thought I'd read something about B&C having a app version, but it must have been for some other forum. kabaakaba Posted June 25 Share Posted June 25 It's a standard function of chrome. It's make local copy of site(if possible) and only load updates. It's work for sites with a lot of static like forums on some standard engine like Invision.
