Posts need moderator approval?

Hi, 

 

I’ve just posted in the ‘things you like about 40k’ thread in amicus abut it’s telling me my post needs moderator approval?

 

I’ve never had this come up on anything I’ve posted before and I’m not under any warning points or anything so I’m not sure what the issue is?

One thing that I've noticed gets picked up a lot for me is when you shorten Ballistic Skill to it's letters because that can mean something else.

I wasn't the mod that approved your post, but looking at it the problem was most likely the word "woken". Woke and its derivatives are on the site's swear/mod approval filter due to it being a commonly used political jab, especially in the USA. 

 

In general, unless you get a message from a mod about something, if you get hit with an approval needed on a post it is because one of your words hit the filters. They unfortunately don't have the ability to see context, which is why the mods need to manual approve posts like this.

Thanks, I did wonder if it was the filter but I couldn’t see anything that I thought would’ve trigged it so I thought it might be an issue with my account, I didn’t think of woke.

I think I was the moderator that approved your post, and it was caught for the reason Lord Ikka stated.

 

As a somewhat humorous aside, Lord_Ikka's post explaining the reason, as it used the same word, also needed moderator approval, which I imagine he gave himself.  To avoid going through that process myself, I haven't used said word here.

Yes, I wasn’t so smart, I repeated the word in my reply above and it had to be moderated again

I approved the 2nd Post as it was not being used in a Derogatory manner.....I did chuckle that you did use it again, unintentionally.

Apologies for jumping into this thread, but I have a related issue.

 

My post in the Aeldari Exodites thread requires moderator approval, but I cannot see anything in my post or the post that I quoted that would have tripped the swear filter.

 

Unless there is a term I am unaware of in there that has flagged the post, I think it may have been filtered in error.

To be specific, the post you quoted had the word "dino" in it. Much like woke, dino is a term used in American politics as a derogative/inflammatory and thus it is in our software as a mod-approval term. As mentioned before, even mods have their posts go through this process and have to approve our own posts with any terms that trip the filter.
