Lord Marshal
Preview of the Detachments. There's a big one (War Horde) ALA 10th and the other fourteen are said to be the smaller style ones from the start of 11th. Quote What else can you do in Codex: Orks? Well, if you caught the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it reveal of the 15 detachment names in the Big Summer Preview stream, you might have a few ideas. Let’s have a quick buzz over the list and see what they do: War Horde – A big detachment with six stratagems and four enhancements that can fit any Ork unit in without too much of a problem. Green Tide – Lots of Boyz… need we say more? Bully Boyz – Nobz and Meganobz throwing their weight around with natural authority over the Boyz. Taktikal Brigade – Battleline Stormboyz and advanced forward operations. Wreckas – Tankbustas and Breaka Boyz ruin vehicles for fun. It lets your Warboss wear a pirate hat. Da Big Hunt – Beast Snaggas do what they do best – fight the biggest gitz around. Madcap Meks – Meks and Big Meks tinker with their inventions, which might sometimes give the opponent an invulnerable save. Thanks guys. Dread Mob – Deff Dreads, Killa Kans, and other walkers push their luck for powerful boosts. Blitz Brigade – Hurl Battlewagons up the battlefield and empower the units inside them. Kult of Speed – Want loads of those awesome new Warbikers? Give them Battleline and soup up all your fastest units. Flyboyz – Ork aircraft hit better when riled up, take up less of your strategic reserves, and one can even become your Warlord for an Air Waaagh!. Wurrband – Give your Ork psykers some extra powers to use, and boost their psychic strength when surrounded by hollering underlings. Runt Swarm, Shoota Boyz, and Brute Bosses – As seen above! 01RTB01
Grots being meat shields as a Strat is a fantastic thing to see. Hopefully we see some more fun back in. However, the shoota Boyz upgrade so that every weapon in the mob gains Supa hazardous surely means (with my dice) that my mob will fire once and then explode lol. Positive to see so far. Indy Techwisp
Obviously it was never going to be in the codex, but presumably the Equatorial Detachment is still valid to use, right? Otherwise that's only been an option for about a month or two. Its disgusting when they do this. GW did it very recently with the Old World starter box, too. You get half the starter box contents for the same price as buying the whole set minus the rules and second army. It really annoys as many won't be able to, nor want to buy the starter set. This practise is just spiteful and greedy. I wanted to get involved, but now will tag out. Well done GW. Lexington
Eesh, that Mek price. Thought I'd get one for funsies, but at that price I'l just stick with some easy conversion. Same with the Trukk. It's an amazing model, and I really wanted to get a few for this little detachment of new Boyz I'm putting together. At that price, tho, well...I did just find an STL set that recreates and expands on the chassis of the old Gorkamorka Trukk, which I've always had a soft spot for. Guess that's our answer. The enhancement seems to be on one model, not the whole squad. Unless you can pay for the enhancement multiple times across the whole squad. Which would be hilarious and very orky :D 15 detachments seems crazy, but glad to see some of these dont come with a load of extra strats to worry about (having 9+ strats on the go at once is a bit of a headache when taking multi detachments currently). From what theyve shown these all feel fairly fluffy, just hope theyve not all mad powerful and get nerfed into oblivion within 2 months (or that orks become an 'elite' army due to needing higher points costs). lhg033 Posted yesterday at 07:53 AM Share Posted yesterday at 07:53 AM So I have a ROI for the trukk, mek, codex and command pack I may drop the command pack off that depending on the price. The Mek and Trukk are more expsnsive than I would like but I do want the models enough to still by them I' will likely eventually get more Boyz and some Bikes but no rush on either of those as I have plenty of each and I just want the variety and extra bits (Squigs!) I've barely played any games in the last decade and was kind of leaning towards trying to make more of an effort this edition Laurence 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388166-ork-trukk-mek-codex/page/5/#findComment-6183080 Share on other sites
Lord Marshal
Overview of the 'codex anatomy'. Looks like they've seemingly listened to complaints of the lore sections steadily getting thinner: Quote One of the most beloved features of older Codexes – a comprehensive bestiary of all the units you can collect and use – returns with a bang, ballooning the lore section in Codex: Orks from about 40 pages in 2024 to nearly 100 in 2026. Witness the pitiable life of the humble Gretchin, learn what the difference is between a Hunta Rig and a Kill Rig,** and read all about the rise to power of the one and only Ghazghkull Thraka.*** Edited 19 hours ago by Lord Marshal BadgersinHills 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388166-ork-trukk-mek-codex/page/5/#findComment-6183117 Share on other sites

Lexington
Curious how the amalgamated 'Warbuggies' entry ends up working. Genericized weaponry like the Kans? Maybe just several upgrades living within a single entry? Guess we'll find out. Odd to see the Squigbuggy living out there on its own, maybe they just wanted to keep an Indirect Fire buggy option open? redmapa
Im glad the buggies are one datasheet,it bodes well for the marine codex which could use that same treatment to SEVERAL datasheets. Captains, Lieutenants, Speeders, Phobos infantry all could be just one datasheet with options for their respective units.
