Yes, as I say they have Imperial Armour rules now, as per the current codex. We know GW remove or legends units etc. at codex release. I want them to address this ahead of time to build customer confidence rather than leaving a door open for a bait and switch.

They spent half the section about the Custodes hammering in the fact that this is a 30k and a 40k box.

"We put the 40k logo on the box to stop arguments about it." is a direct quote from the stream.

We did just see a whole new range of Warriors of Chaos to compete with Chaos Warriors though  so this is probably not going to be a consistent thing.

They're not really competing with themselves?

It's more akin to having, say, 40k Thousand Sons and 30k Thousand Sons.

They're both TSons but they're not competing (and players in both gamelines steal models from the other to spice up their armies).

Yeah, this is just twice the models for either camp.  Chaos Warriors truly are the space marines of fantasy.

On a slightly more topical note, once I get around to actually finishing my Word Bearers legion (mixed with a healthy dose of CSM bits of course) i just might have some Bananas in my future.

I don't believe it really settles anything though. Why does this one box amongst all the shared kits deserve the treatment. The cerastus doesn't have a 40k logo on it, is that at risk? The space marine units in legends still means they're supported, should they get both logos?

I think it's because when they put out the initial HH Custodes refresh and said "40k players can use these as well" there was a very vocal part of the community who were convinced this was just GW straight up lying for some reason, so now it's on the box because we as a community showed GW that they need to put it there.

Maybe future repackaging of other cross-gameline kits will gain the 40k logo as well, if putting it on here does it's intended job.

I hope that this signals the phasing out of the clunky 40k plastic custodes and replacing them with the HH version which look far more like the artwork and much more elegant IMO

I at least was considering that a possibility because they have done so in the past with the Marine Heresy vehicles. Im glad to see that they are apparently not going down this route, but I still dont think tha tit was a given with the information that we had at the time so Im glad that they're taking this step to further clarify things.

On another note, despite giving the 11th launch box a miss, this is still looking to be an expensive year, between the first Custodes box (technically last year but so close as to not matter in my mind) the Mk IV box and now this. My Wallet is in pain and my pile of shame is going in the wrong direction again haha.

Second wave plastic custodes was a given, but I’m surprised they’re getting a third wave!

I'd be amazed if there isn't at least a HH style terminator squad and another character sculpt to drop at some point, it'd be bizarre to get this far and leave those.

After missing out on the last Custodes box, I will be fighting tooth and nail to get this one.

For me the big draw is the bikes and Grav-attack. My Custodes collection is already jetbike heavy since they're my favourite models so more plus another vehicle that can keep up with them is welcome. And all for a price that dosen't mean selling a kidney (resin price of the box's contents is £380.50.)

I wrote a silly list last edition to field as many jetbikes as possible to represent Shield-Captain Bayezara's shield company. This box turns that idea from a pipe dream to something feasible.

The Telemon is icing on the cake. Another lovely big model that I want but the resin version was just too pricey for me most of the time.

As someone who already has a sizable FW army, I'm delighted that GW didn't chose to antigonaze by locking these units into the Heresy system only.

I do wonder how Agamatus and Vertus bikes will co-exist rules wise. I hope we will have a meaningful choice between the two, rather than Vertus being leagues better as it is now.

Well the Agamatus being a platform for heavier weapons feels like it could be a viable option if pointed correctly and with an effective rule.

Quite excited for the plastic Telemon, though I'll get it when its on sale individually as I don't really need the other kits. Having 40k and HH in the same box is really interesting from what we've heard and seen of different GW departments wanting one kit to only be for one system only.

I'm more excited for the stupid Pallas Grav-attack than anything else. I got the first box and never touched the Dreadnought (it lives on the sprue).

I have a strange fever dream of building an Custodes Armoured Company, filled with armour and where my troops are all mounted in APCs.

The Emperor has smiled on my as I have managed to get the last Custodes box sealed for a non-outrageous price.

So that plus the new box gives me everything I could desire for the ten-thousand for the next while.

Currently eagerly awaiting so rules updates. At the moment Agamatus bikes can only be taken in threes right now in 40k so hopefully they change to twos as the minimum or the individual release isn’t far behind.

And if anyone else in the UK is looking at a pile of new Custodes and considering using them in heresy as well, Dark Sphere have the liber book in their summer sale: https://www.darksphere.co.uk/c.php?c=2540

I won't lie, even as someone with exactly zero interest in Custodes as an army (I wouldn't pick 'em if I got into The Horus Heresy and I actively dislike their return as a main faction in 40K) I could be tempted by the Pallas to do...something with. It's honestly a really cool little vehicle, and I love the weird Art Deco stylings of the thing; I think it highlights that it's true relic-tech compared to other Imperial skimmers. My thoughts on them aside, by comparison the Primaris grav-tanks do very much look like existing tank designs crudely retrofitted with clumsy repulsion tech (which isn't actually my problem with them).

Now give us the Kharon Pattern Acquisitor in plastic, GW, and my money is yours. I adore that thing, it's really evocative of the weirdness of the formative late 80s/early 90s era of 40K whilst being just refined enough to fit in with modern miniatures. I'd definitely buy one to add to my Chaos army and convert into a counts-as Land Raider or something similar, complete with Chris Foss inspired nutty paintjob.

Anyone know how those jet bike riders compare in size/scale to primaris?

Courtesy of minicompare (still the "old" outriders as the new ones didn't have good angles)

Seem to have similar sized pilots, but the banana-bike is vastly longer.

You could probably swap riders if you, for example, want an extra premium bike for a character (or want to banish a custard cream to a raider pattern bike)
