Stolen from Dave C on Dakka but:

£47 for the intro set
£155 for the starter set
£22 paints
£105 Getting started sets

Which is seems a pretty decent price for the two starter sets.

These all seem very reasonable if they're accurate.

I think it's been like this for a while, but why did GW remove the handle from the seam scraper?

They sell the scraper as whole deal. But i think you mean the pliers and blade set? You can use Scraper blade by itself as it has enough material to be held, but it´s really meant as more of a replacement for the actual blade in handle set

Yea locally they've gone on pre-order for the same price as the combat patrols.... Which means the paints are 'free', more or less.

It's a good move on GW's part tbh - a nephew of mine is just starting the hobby and getting paints and a usable collection out the gate at $205 CAD feels alot less intense for a teen than the same price just for the minis and then $75+ more for paints and brushes.

Well played GW; now I don't even feel bad that I can't seem to find a complete Armageddon Marines half for him from locals.

Cheers,

The Good Doctor.

Tempted to pick up a starter set for the terrain, and to get a 2nd landspeered and wartrakk - will have to work out what selling the rest will get me.

Similar.  The extra Boyz/Gretchin / Marines are a bonus I can happily use between my DA and the BA force I am now starting.

The only model there I am probably a bit less enthisatic about a double of of is the weirdboy - it is a bit too 'specific'. But.. it makes a great painting project

As these are the standard sets so I may wait a bit for the dust to settle on what I have got before I add more to it.

I am thinking of picking up the starter set.  It appears that it doesn't have the terrain footprints, but it has the terrain itself, the board, and each of the combat patrols for $250.  And a rulebook, but the rulebook is sad and disappointing.  Split up, you're looking at about $80 for terrain and $80 per combat patrol.  The combat patrol terrain set is suppose to be priced at "about the price of a combat patrol," so I'm expecting it to be $170 like the getting started sets with models + paints.  Tack the price of the footprints on ($32) that you'll have to buy separately and you're still coming in at a good discount.  I think I might have buyers for the ork and marine parts.

I thought they previewed a set with just the terrain, footprints and boards? That's more the set I'm looking for.

They did.  Two sets, really.  One bare plastic that fills half a table, one pre-painted that does a whole table.  The pre-paint isn't coming till Fall/Winter-ish and the half table is coming sometime sooner.

Not to me. Last edition they had a perfect sweet spot with the starter set for £60. This time it’s just bonkers having the only proper 2-faction starter be over £150. They are sorely lacking that middle set this time.
