Badly. Also I'm sure his leather tassles are like a cad copy from somewhere.

30k Ultramarine Praetor? Terminator and Artificer both have similar pteruges.

Personally, I love it but I do wonder if the reveal would have been better if he was revealed alongside the codex, giving this slot to something else.

Would have also been good if he had an alt model form of a generic champion (all um specific bits were seperate parts with blanks to be added so he can be who you want him to be)

Also noticing a lot of duplicated posts here

Yeah, on that note I dont know if its just me but I have been having absolutely terrible connection issues with B&C, probably 50% of the time it either fails on the host end or takes way longer than any other website. Maybe thats why the duplicates

Or maybe the world is just telling me to take a break, I dunno

Tbh if you're making Honor Guard characters, Sanguinary Guard need 3. With wings. A big banner guy, some other sort of specialist, and a Champion character. Would help it a lot if the updated kit became Sanguinary Guard redshirts surrounding Sanguinary Guard Sr.

THE BLACK LION GUY! THE BLACK LION GUY IS REAL!

Oh :cuss: he is too. Thats honestly kinda hilarious, just stick a Deathwatch pauldron on him and try and kitbash Trajanns lion pelt and thats him pretty damn perfectly.

Good miniature but it is the least needed in a faction overpopulated with miniatures and data sheets.

I honestly think that might be a part of the explanation. Special characters are something that they can come up with that don't add to the bloat or feel too much "same unit, different hat", which is bound to be a problem you run into when designing new Marine stuff at this point. A special character is relatively innocuous in that regard but still feels like something new, so maybe that's why they went with one?

As for the model, it's very good and I like Ultramarines, but it is getting a bit silly at this point.

I don't know, I kinda hate the surplus of characters that in the story they don't do much or are soon forgotten after one edition ends.

And the bloat feels real when you can't keep up with them, and it's not only an UM problem.

I suspect and fear this is another way to "take our money" by producing a slighty different (with sometimes very low effort) marine but, hey it's a special char so it's super cool and we can charge you more!

Very, very cool model. There's nothing to dislike about it.

I'm under no illusion that the big chapters will get more models im 11th.

I think once Vanguard and plastic Outriders get their full releases, as well as a few more generic chatacter options, GW will probably focus on chapter-exclusive heroes and units for the next few release waves.

So, tinfoil hat time.

They showed off quite a few orks already, they're likely to want some ork minis to show off at the book release.

They also know that marines were not so exciting to people in the launch box.

So I think we'll get 4 weeks of marines, where they're going to hype up the marine release and save what kits are left for the ork codex run up.

Excellent. We were desperately short of Ultramarines characters. We just heard about new Outriders, therefore Marneus Calgar on a bike must  only be a week away from being unveiled.

Cool model. Want to snag the bare head from a bits vendor

If you are UK based you can have mine :)

I think my real sticking point for Kaius is where is he in the Chapter Hierachy?

He isn't the Chapter Champion. Is his position more akin to Arjac Rockfist?
