I don't think it's an unreasonable complaint; the helmet wings actually being separated from the sides of the helmet looks better. It's not a deal-breaker but it is disappointing.

The face wings look hella stupid no matter what. Easily the worst part of the model.

Saw someone point this out on Instagram. That's pretty rough. This once again makes me question if there's any QA checks or comparisons with other CAD models before they ship the design to make the machinery for the factory.

They better make it like moustache?

Probably because gw is waiting for their codex update to give them new stuff, but that would be a wait as the BA book is rumoured to not be in the first four out

Because they never planned to give us any releases.

they literally could have done a dual release, SM codex and BA supp at the same time. Or SM, orks, BA supp.

or they could have just revealed new BA character and given him a digital datasheet on the app and warcom until they codex dropped which depending on time frames could have allowed time to integrate a first round of adjustments to the character in the codex if he had been too over/under powered before it released.

it was just never a serious consideration for the boys in blue to take a backseat. They had to make an appearance in the trailer, and they had to get the first reveal.

BA being box art was just throwing the non-UM crowd a bone to shut us up about everything always being UMs for a few years.

That era had really nice limited edition Captains. Only the recent Centos miniature came close to that. Would love to see more stuff like this in 32mm.

GRIM DARK REALMS: 2nd Webstore Exclusive Space Marine Captain

Edited by MoriyaSchism

Yeah definitely, loads of cool captains from that era.  The webstore exclusive Captains were ace.

Few realise this, but the 2nd webstore Captain (the one with the plasma pistol) is upscaled compared to normal marines of the era.  He is taller than a tactical marine, same/similar height to 2016 Deathwatch and series 1 Space Marine heroes.  I wonder if he was one of their first experiments in upscaling marines.

Actually the BA being on the box was probably more to do with the call back to the 2nd edition 40k box. Likewise, if they ever do DE in a box, I'd expect the Black Templars to be on the box for a similar reason.
