It’s no exaggeration to say that The Infinite and the Divine is one of the most beloved Black Library novels of the last decade, pitting two impossibly ancient Necrons against each other in a back-and-forth struggle for possession of an ancient artefact. It’s a story like no other, as the bitter rivalry upends entire planets across thousands of years – clashing with Exodite armies, xenos uprisings, and a spell in Necron small claims court.

The sequel finds Trazyn in an unusual position, as the opening of the Great Rift presents an opportunity to mend his… strained relationship with an embittered Orikan and uncover the fate of a long lost expedition to the Chaos-corrupted planet of Amenthis. Nothing involving Chaos is ever easy, however, and the horrors they unearth may have far greater consequences than either could possibly predict.

Really glad to see The Infinite and the Divine got a sequel - definitely one of the best novels they've released in the last few years.

Definitely getting this, absolutely loved the infinite and the divine and its look at necron life...or unlife.

I'll also echo calls about a new Trazyn mini, feels like we've had rumours about a new one forever.

You're right, not everything needs a sequel. Thank goodness we're getting THIS sequel

Yeah, thank god Hollywood never made Alien 2, Star Wars 2, or Terminator 2

Literally judging the book's quality before it's out.

Must you be miserable and negative about every cool announcement?

No, it doesn't need a sequel. However, it's been 5 years since the original novel so it's hardly a quick cash grab. Robert Rath, the author, clearly likes the characters and I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt as to having a new story to tell. He's only written 3 novels, but they are all extremely highly rated with Assassinorium: Kingmaker and TIatD being high up peoples lists of recommended reads.

Frankly, even if this doesn't live up to the frankly absurd quality of TIatD, it's still likely to be excellent and the synopsis seems to be taking the characters in a bit of a different direction.

So no, this isn't strictly needed. But it is a surprise, and a welcome one at that.

I think Fall of Cadia is a bit undervalued by the fan base because Raths other novels were so good. If anyone else wrote FoC we'd be talking about how good that author is because of that book
