Battlesize and DP

Hi fraters. Didn't GW state in a WarCom article during the 11th build up that you can use one 3dp detachment in a 1k game, even when it says you only have two points at your disposal? However, I can't find this in the rules. Not within mustering your army, erreta or FAQ. Did I miss it?

It's not officially 100% stated yet outside of team events, but pretty much everyone I know is playing it as such until told otherwise.

Yeah, in friendly games I've never seen anyone complain about it....

 

Unless your opponent is playing Deathwatch at a 1,000 points, then you should definitely say, "What Detachment are you using? Black Spear? That's 3DP. You can't use that." 

 

And then try not to smirk for as long as you can.

Let's just say that my first few games upon returning to 40k were confusing as heck, due to my opponents playing Deathwatch and using their wacky units.
