So cleaned up my resin bases and getting the clippers sharpened up. I want a full SW army, Primaris only as I cannot stand the scale difference, and want it to be flexible for narrative campaigns only. That being said, anyone please let me know if I am missing something in the rules. This is what I have on-hand right now for infantry.

WGBL (Wolf Lord)

Wolf Priest x2

Rune Priest (will be using Njal rules)

Iron Priest

WGBL x2 (as pack leaders)

Wolf Guard Headtakers

Wolf Guard TDA

Wolf Scouts x2 Packs

Grey Hunters x3 Packs

Blood Claws x1 Pack

Wulfen x1 Pack

I know I will be throwing a Dread or two into the mix as well as some transports and firepower. Just haven't decided yet on what I want.

Yup, that is the full list. Long Fangs have not crossed the Rubicon Primaris so you may find you are a bit short on infantry-based firepower. You will definitely need a tank or two for firepower. I would consider adding some non-SW units. Once decorated with a few appropriately wolfy accessories, they look surprisingly good IMHO.

I was really thinking about what to add in terms of heavy infantry, but despite having the new codex and 11th edition, I am still fuzzy on how codex Marines interact within our chapter rules with keywords and all.

It is kind of like they are two parallel lists that operate together but don't actually cross over much. Basically SW Characters can only lead SW Units and vanilla characters can only lead vanilla units. One of the Detachments has an upgrade allowing a Space Marine Captain to join a squad of Wolf Guard Terminators to represent a Wolf Lord in Terminator armour. This is fine but I think Arjac is better for leading WG TDA.

The best thing to do it look at the Stratagems in the Detachment to see how applicable they are. For example, "Pinning Fire" can be used by any Adeptus Astartes unit so anything in your army. "Thunderous Pursuit" on the other hand can only be used by Space Wolves Infantry and TWC. So picking your Detachment will give a guide on what proportion of SW units you might want in your army.

Speaking of Detachments, if you are short of anti-tank then Saga of the Beastslayer might be worth a look. It is not as popular as Saga of the Great Wolf but it is easier to use as Lethal Hits against all vehicles and monsters really lets your basic units punch up.
