I have always liked Wraith Guard and Warp Spiders. I have painted dozens of each over the years only to sell them later(Its a habit). So with the new edition I have been bouncing ideas and am now working on a new Spirit Conclave army using the take and hold disposition. I took armored warhost as an extra detachment but it only benefits 1 unit.

Spirit Conclave/Armored Warhost

Eldrad(because)

Avatar

3 Spiritseers (higher duty, Light of clarity)

11 Storm Guardians(Eldrad and WC go here)

2 x 5 Wraithblades with axes

3 x 5 Wraithguard with D-scythe

5 Sky Reavers

5 Warp Spiders (action monkeys and bouncing around)

Warlock Conclave

2 Wraithlords 2 bright lance

1 War Walker Bright Lance, star cannon

Basic idea is the Wraith guard move up to the NML objectives. Each squad is backed up by either the Avatar or the wraithlords. The Wraith Blades(One of which has the reactive move) are further support/holders. Meanwhile the jumpy troops go do whats needed for secondaries and try to stay out of sight while doing it.

Problems: anti-armor is going to be a pain, but I havent actually run into too many vehicles so far this edition outside another eldar player who had three prisms. I am not really sure what I can do about it.

Have a Crusade league coming up soon. Starting at 1k points. Legends are legal. Its supposed to be non-competitive so I am not looking for how to make this into a true competitive list but looking for some glaring holes in my logic.

1k Spirit Conclave Take and hold

Spirit Seer-55

Spirit Seer-Stave of Kurnous

5 wraithblades with axes

5 Wraith Guard with D-Scythes

5 Wraith guard with Wraithcannons

5 Skyreavers blaster and shredder, blast pistol

Wraithlord 2x Bright Lances

Wraithseer D-cannon (the actual general)

War Walker bright lance/star cannon

Basic idea is the Wraithseer once a powerful farseer got a premonition while he was floating in the infinity circuit, woke up his companions and the spiritseers are trying to keep up and grabbed some extra units along the way. I wrote a short story about this easily a decade ago. Maybe I will work on it more during the Crusade.

I found some rules changes to the crusade so I have made the list a little different to be able to actually compete. As with most crusades I have played in, units are locked in after the first game.

Still conclave.

BoneSinger -(we are only allowed 2 of the same model in 1k so I threw in a bonesinger to accompany the eldar dreadnoughts and heal them)

Spirit Seer-technically the warlord although the wraithseer is the one leading the errant group of ghost walkers.

Spirit Seer

Wraithblades with axes

Wraithblades with D-Scythes

Storm Guardians (I needed some extra dudes who provide free sticky and they arent bad on overwatch)

Warlock conclave 2 guys with storm guardians

Corsair Skyreavers x5

2 Eldar Dreadnoughts with bright lances and flamers

1 War walker Bright lance and star cannon

With Take and hold, most missions require me to keep home and capture two points. I will run the 2 wraith infantry units backed up by seers and a dreadnought each to whatever objectives are most defendable. The storm Guardians are a red herring and will sticky the home and go running to one of the expansion objectives. Their use really depends on what my opponent has and is doing.

At 1.5k I add the Avatar, WraithSeer and another Skyreaver unit.

At 2k I squeeze in eldrad and 2 more wraith infantry units, and some rangers, voidreavers, or a Star Fang.

I played my first game this weekend VS a 1k sons army. Weebils wobble but they wont fall down.

It was a mirror match for dispositions as we were both Take and hold. His force consisted of 5 scarab terms and a term sorc, 10 flamer Rubrics and a sorceror, 3 surfing goats and a sorceror on a surf board, a forge fiend and a vortex beast.

I set up my blades, seer, and dreadlord on the left side, storm guardians in home objective, wraithguard, dreadlord, bonesinger and seer on the right side in cover. My warwalker became my courier for the agenda I was working on since I had to pick something so it was 6" from the center out of the center terrain. Skyreavers in DS.

He had his vortex beast by itself on the left, rubrics in center with forgefiend, surfing goats on far right in cover. terms in DS.

T1: I got first turn and got both wraith units to toe in to the left and right objectives with their accompanying escorts just behind and out of LOS while the Warwalker moved back into my deployment zone. I dont think I fired a shot this round.

His T1: He moved everything up the board toward their close objectives. His forgefiend did have LOS to my wraith blades and he killed 1.5 of them. The vortex beast used some weapon and dropped the wraith blades down to 1 model. On the right side he managed to kill a WG.

My T2: brought back a wraith on either side and healed a damaged on the right. He had to do some sort of secondary on the center and as he was toed in my Storm Guardians had to do something.  So once again everything moved up, getting into charge range on the left, and D-Scythe range(but outside 8") on the right of the surfing goats. Storm Guardians moved close enough to shoot the Rubrics. Vortex beast overwatched the wraithlord(I used my token to protect the wraith blades) and knocked him down to 4 wounds. So on the left the wraithlord knocked the vortex beast down to 4 wounds. On the right, they cleared the Surfing goats. My storm guardians and warlock conclave only managed to kill 2 rubrics and the warwalker supporting them wiffed entirely not even hitting them. Then everything on the left charged the vortex beast and the lord beat it down. Stormguardians redeemed themselves as I needed to get him off the center and they made a long bomb charge and actually managed to kill 2 rubrics and he killed a couple guardians.

His T2: He lost both of his wing units and scooted the forge fiend to toe in on his home in the back corner. His rubrics fell back and I used a token to follow up and barely was able to keep one guy within engagement range of him. This unfortunately took me off the center objective. He DS'd his termies into my deployment zone and cast some kind of spell that let him more again with them and got a guy onto my home objective and the rest into LOS of his my war walker who had screened him off the objective. War walker went down to a doombolt and a missile while I lost a couple wraith guard to shooting from them and the forge fiend. The melee fight in the middle continued and I killed two more rubrics and had a guardian, platform and the two warlocks left.

My T3: I got whatever secondary does the quarters thing and dropped my skyreavers behind the corner terrain. My now 3 strong wraithblades moved through the building. Wraithlord moved into the open on the left to get shots on the termies and managed to kill one. My 3 wraithguard on the other side shot up the termies killing one. My other wraithlord managed a wound and hit on the forgefield but he refused to fail a 5++ everytime. Battle in the center left me with one warlock and him with 2 rubrics and the sgt and sorcerer.

His t3: He turned his termies attention to the units hanging out in the right side objective and moved forward and I managed to kill another one leaving two and the sgt. The forgefiend moved up to the forward edge of his home objective. He killed his own terminator sorcerer doing a doombolt or ap spell. The warlock was killed in combat. He charged the wraithguard and managed a high enough roll to get the Bonesinger into combat as well and I lost two wraithguard but bonesinger was unharmed. Center rubrics were able to toe the center.

My T4: My now 4 strong wraithblades moved as close to the edge of the building in the left objective. I pulled plunder so my skyreavers stayed in place and did that. left side wraithlord moved to get the field in LOS. Its frikken stupid that a forgefiend is a vehicle somehow and gets a cover bonus from toeing in but a wraithlord who can literally duck back and forth around a corner to snipe a target or go on its knees behind a wall and shoot over it doesnt get cover. Anyway, once again from both wraithlords, magic 5++s to the rescue and no damage. The two wraithguard back out of combat and shoot the terminators and do nothing. The wraithlord standing next to the terminators charges in and kills one.

His T4: He gives up on the left side and starts moving his guys to the right. He brings the 2 remaining rubric and the sorcerer+sorcerer(C) and left the fiend in place with a toe on home. He manages to kill the rubric sorcerer with a spell and the character sorcerer is down to one wound from casting. His shooting kills the Spirit seer as he is no longer lone op and the wraithlord on the right is down to 2 wounds.

My T5: Everyone on the right side fails battleshock except the Bonesinger and I lose control of that objective because of the two terminators. I get consecrate as a secondary which presents a quandary. I make the wrong call not that it matters in the end. I jump the skyreavers over to left side objective and they consecrate. What I should have done was jump the skyreavers on his home and hopefully gotten all five on it to steal it away and consecrate then and gotten the  VP for taking it. The wraithlords attempt to shoot the forgefiend with their 4 brightlances. Only one gets through the 5++ out of the 4 that hit and wound. The now five man wraithblades run across the open space and get a toe on the center objective and consecrate it. However the lone rubric standing on it has a 2OC. The right side wraith lord now back to 5 health charges the rubric marines since he is in a conga line with the character farthest away meaning if I can kill a rubric he will no longer be on the objective. As predictable, he fails to wound with his sweep attacks while the wraithblades failed their charge.

We call it there as he is ahead by 2 at 63-65. He would have fallen back with the rubrics and I couldnt follow up since my seer was too far away. He would have killed the seer and the final wraithguard on the right. I might have been able to intervene with the blades if he fell back far enough but there was enough wiggle room and it was a 9" charge before. Probably would have killed the wraithlord and gotten bring it down.

Was a really good game. His spells were crazy giving him insane rerolls, negative damage and lots of minuses to my shooting. On the other hand he couldnt kill my guys fast enough since I was rezzing and healing them. It helped that he managed to kill two and almost kill the other two sorcerers on his own. That dang fiend refused to fail somewhere around 7 or 8 5++ saves. But, first time I have played eldar in years and the first time I have played this army at all and I did manage to complete an agenda and thread of fate.
