Intercessor Squad gone from webstore

I did listen to a Valrak video recently where he was talking about the Armageddon Intercessors being the new Intercessors kit, and no multiparts were coming. 

 

Hope not, as that would suck, but they are a sprue on their own in the box set.

Got started in 8th edition with Dark Imperium and Intercessors were my first multipart box of miniatures. Even though I have A LOT of Intercessors, it's still sad to think that this version of them might be done and out of circulation. 8th edition wasn't THAT long ago.... right?

8th Edition came out almost a decade ago. You are welcome.

Primaris are as old now as classic Marines were when I got into the hobby...

I'm curious as to why some of the phobos characters have either disappeared or are marked as sold out online and to be removed on the US site. Specifically, the incursor lieutenant, which is completely gone, and the phobos librarian which is marked for removal. I figure that the regular tacticus librarian, which is marked sold out online to be removed as well, is going away with the introduction of a new non Armageddon librarian model, so that makes sense, but the phobos librarian is odd. None of the other phobos characters are affected, same as the phobos units: all are present and accounted for. Of course, I'm wondering if they are being replaced or sent to legends. Has anyone heard anything?

I am getting so old, intercessors feel like they just came out, I still have dark imperium models to paint!

 

Its weird that the phobos LT and other phobos models are vanishing as well.

I wonder if the phobos and reiver lts are being merged into a multipart phobos lt kit? The reiver lt looks great, but is a nonbo with the only unit he can lead thanks to his lack of grav-chutes and the phobos lt was locked to a sprue no longer being sold.

They are all still listed and available on the European store. This might just be a regional website difference.

This would be a welcome change. 3 datasheets and two of the models only available on joint sprues with other models (at least one of which is likely to be going as well) plus the historical rules controversy makes it a great candidate for a single MPK / datasheet.

The Incursor Lieutenant has never been a standalone product. It's always been available as part of a set, due to sharing a sprue with the sergeants from the other Shadowspear squads as well as the Infiltrator specialists. Most recently, it was part of the Vanguard Task Force box, which has indeed been removed, but could easily turn up as yet another rebox down the line.

 

Not sure what to make of the Phobos Librarian apparently going away. It's one of the cooler Primaris models IMO.

Just googled, they are not. Interesting. Hope they dont get rid of the old intercessors.

The launch box Armageddon ones are pushfit. I am building some at the moment and they have the pegs, moulded on shoulder pads etc.

I don’t know, of course, but I would be very surprised if they made a set of minis that isn’t compatible with their upgrade kits the standard.

Whatever else may happen, I’m very certain that they won’t remove the multipart kit without replacing it.

To be fair, look at Sternguard - we lost the firstborn ones, got pushfit Primaris ones in Leviathan, and then got the multi-part Primaris plastic kit a little later. I would be astounded if they aren't simply preparing to do the same with Intercessors, only with the first batch of intercessors being chopped instead of a Firstborn kit.

That's certainly a possibility. What I have a hard time believing is that they'd do it without the "multi-part Primaris plastic kit a little later" bit.

Whether it's going to be different with a battleline kit like Intercessors is the big question, but we shall see. Ork Boyz seem to be getting both the starter set minis and a multipart kit, but as always, the devil is going to be in the detail.

Isn't next year the 40th anniversary of 40k? There's a rumour that Pedro Kantor should be making a reappearance at some point as well. New multipart Intercessors kit with mixed armour looks painted as Crimson Fists plus Pedro Kantor release to celebrate? Recreate the Rogue Trader cover with them?

What they should´ve done with new deathwatch, sternguard and hopefully new intercessors is to give them proper "different" ammo looks on their ranged weapons. 

Previous Deathwatch and even kit before that had certain mags on their bolters that showed the different ammo slots, current Sternguards are just copypasted bolt rifles with basically nothing to note veteran status. Even sergeants previously tended to have option for "fancy" gun

Sorry just catching to all my name drops at the moment, I think you may have got confused, I said the old Intercessor kit will be gone and the Armageddon one will replace and be multipart just like the old intercessor kit.
