random_Aeldari_User
I love wraith units and the wraithfighter and it seems well kinda eh i mean the main thing that caught my eye was it was a psyker. Is it worth using and if so how? Oh and the aura seems alright if i can use it 10th edition based on codex i'm behind in codexes... Galron
It seems pretty decent as far as aircraft go. I havent used one but with my Spirit Conclave/Armored Warhost I can see it being useful. If it dies I even get a bonus since its a psyker. Its two scythes are pretty nasty as well and would be a great use of overwatch as well. I am not entirely sure how effective fliers are in this edition yet but I am looking to try it at some point. Solution Bouargh Posted August 11 Solution Share Posted August 11 It suffered from the same drawbacks as most flyers in last Ed. and I imagine it is not better now. The biggest drawbak is how unreliable its heavy D-Scythes are: you can win big or do nothing; but an average of 7 attacks BS4 S12 and seen the AP and D value it gets, it can crack open heavy targets easily; yet this average ranges from 2 to 12 attacks, and sometimes dice rolls are crappy. Yet it still does a little bit the same as a WS with 5 Wraithguards. And the special rule on Battleschock rolls is also limited. I would say that I find its usufulness and performance to be a little bit contextual due to the risky business of number of attacks. As far as Aeldarii flyers are concerned, I however do not see any reason not to take it over a Crimson Hunter; for a very similar cost both units looks like they will perform the same or close, the Hunter being maybe more reliable but with a tad less impact. And if the motivation is thematic, then there is little more to comment: one's tastes worths another's... The assembly is moreother better looking as a Hemlock than as a Crimson hunter (IMHO)... In summary, I do not see it bringing much more impact than a fully loaded transport with Wraith guards +Spiritseer or with skyrunner warlock or Farseer nearby. Cost excepted... as the Hemlock will cost half of my fav combo herebefore... Galron
Oh wow, Bouargh's post made me realize heavy D-Scythes arent torrent weapons anymore like their little brothers and you actually have to hit with them. Ok, not near as useful. Bouargh 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388356-hemlock-wraithfighter-uses/#findComment-6182501 Share on other sites
