The Nobz look a bit "Age of Sigmary" if you know what I mean. I don't hate them but they look like conversions. Not in a bad way. Bikez are cool though.

I don’t know what you mean, but in general I think AoS has had much better looking sculpts than 40K has gotten recently.

I'm glad you're chuffed with them. As I say, I don't dislike them. If each one has two builds I'll grab two boxes, if not, it'll be one. Same with the boyz box but I do adore the updated boyz.

The preview does seem to indicate two builds for at least some of the bodies, I'd be surprised if not all the bodies have alts. Given the kit options the new Boyz Nobz and Wrecka Boyz have, I bet you could kitbash extra Nobz pretty easily

I'm so close to starting an Ork army at this point. Only thing I'm hesitant about is if they remove Burna Boyz and we don't get new Meganobz

I think the Nobz kit needed a Boy for comparison picture because without context they do just look like differently armed Boyz.

The merging of Melee profiles is a little disappointing, but honestly with the sheer number of different Nobz melee options you could possibly have with the existing Ork kits it makes sense why GW would go for a generic profile to fit "everything".

The bikes do look very nice and I note the "choppa" that's just 2 gears on the end of a chain.

A Gunner with a big shoota

A brute with a giant chainaxe

A pistolier with 2 shootas

A dual power klaw guy

A heavy burna

3 ammo grots

That is 100% a kill team, either repurposed as a standard kit or they wanted to show it early due to the leaks. They even seem to have alternate gun + melee standard build, and some back banners really look like specialist banner (the 2 shootas guy one in particular)

They look really cool!

I find it interesting how they give some units like chaos terminators, chosen and now nobz a generic cc weapons profile yet not others. Same with shooting. I'm not aware of shooting units with a "generic" profile.

Genestealer Acolytes are stuck with 'Hybrid firearms' where once they had autoguns and shotguns, and the bikers have 'Atalan small arms'.

They do look very close to the AOS Ironjawz miniatures imho. A big part of it is the yellow armor to me.

I think homogenizing shooting is a lot harder than it is to say "These things all slash or stab."

Also people are still a bit sideways over the changes to Combi-weapons, which basically did homogenize all of the different variants into a single stat line that most people don't like.

"Power weapons" has, on the other hand, been mostly fine.  No one REALLY wants to roll a different die for a power axe v a power sword.

Honestly I think the issue is the expected impact and role of the item.in question.

It's hard to argue that a flamer and a melta have the same purpose on a combi-weapon to even out into 1 profile.

The power maul/axe/sword were a lot closer in purpose and stat distribution, so nobody minded as much. However combining a chainsword, power weapon and powerfist is a harder pill for people to swallow.

That said I think this is a "arm them as you see fit but these 3 items have a profile" type situation.

I remember flipping out over the loss of Harli weapons, and needing to turn them on with a strat!

Just nonsense design.

I guess I haven’t looked that much at the iron jawz but i really hope they give us sculpts on par with the SCE dudes on griffins.

Yep. I don’t mind generic power weapon for kitbash/conversion purposes.

my librarian has a trident. I remember when I first came back and built him and was like “oh I have to decide if it’s a force sword, axe, or staff?” That all had different profiles.

just ‘force weapon’ or ‘power weapon’ for regular 40K is fine.

for smaller scale games like CP, and KT, I think makes more sense to have that level of differentiation between weapon types.
