Those bikes are just begging for a wheelie, or some level of movement at all to not make them feel like a brick that has been cemented to the ground. The Captain himself is good, the weapons show some fun variation, so do the heads and helms, the armour is cool. I really want to like it, the bike itself is not even ugly, its just so darned static... Compared to wazdakka gutsmek which they released a month or two ago it just seems so boring. I can't remember the last time I saw a space marine model and thought 'Wow, that's really cool'. The White Scrafs have waited too long, and have been treated too poorly for the last few editions. I think they suffered more than the other chapters simply because there wasn't a generic mounted character options, outside of the Chaplain. But the wee crux terminatus on the faring annoys me. It looks lazy. I will forgive them that because HAMMMER! It does appear to be suffering from 'the least imaginative way to assemble these components'-itis. But on the whole I am satisfied. Perfect timing as well since all the Intercessors and Landspeeders I've obtained from Armageddon are being painted as Ultramarines 7th Company. I was kinda hoping for some different guns on Outriders, but I'll be able to make do with thunder hammers I guess lol. The real boon is that we'll once again have a Datasheet, and from that you can kitbash to your heart's content, or bring back the model that has quietly sat on the shelf for X years. But it is a great add-on to the army list. Although a Lieutenant on bike would have been what I would have expected instead of a captain. Not the greatest model of all times but it will do the job. My White Scars friend will love this, not just for the Captain, but for extra conversion bits if the kits is well designed too. As someone who has been playing against the Legends version of this guy for a while now, if he keeps the Strat at -1 that is typical for captains, I think he will be pretty good (points dependent of course). Evasive Maneuvers (and whatever the Outrider Detachment version is, I forget) is a solid defensive buff to be able to toss out for free on bikes that can basically make them immune to small arms fire.
