As for painting. Grey Knights should be Grey... not shiny silver.

Edge highlighting looks terrible in general on hard surfaces.

That's not their original color scheme, though. That was from the 3rd edition Index Astartes article, and that was the only time they were depicted in the dark scheme, even in other images of them during that edition. Their original color scheme(s):
