Blacksheep32
OT: Those pics ARE boss, I'd love to see that as a temporary Closed thread sig. "And unto those that would taint the pure with foul and unclean words, thou shalt take up thy mighty power mackeral and smite the beligerent until the bells ring and the trumpet sounds." Another contest, thanks mods! I've got an unfinished dread that needs built anyway. BTW these contests have actually made me build my army, rather than cut and file, and modify and then repeat. I never seem to accomplish anything but vapor, unless a contest is pushing me. Sad really... Again- yay! Adam
Boltman
 HA! I laughed SO HARD at the Mighty Mackerel Smite you have no idea. Madscuzzy, whoever you are, that's really REALLY good. *wipes off tears* Make more such forum-related pics! You brightened my day... *still laughing  Boltman
Magc8Ball
Okay, here's a question that I can't, for the life of me, gin an answer for from the rules. How strict are you guys on using GW models? I'm been planning out a dread conversion for my Jade Fists based on a Warmachine 'jack. It would still be WYSIWIG (using GW bits for, at least, the weapons) and will meet all the requirements of the contest, but if it'll be disqualified for not being Citadel, I'll just save it for another local contest. Thanks! -JAL
Chronophague
The contest is Dreadnaught only. Entries may not contain any figures beyond those included in the box for the model. If it doesn't come in the box don't add it to your entry How strict are you guys on using GW models? I'm been planning out a dread conversion for my Jade Fists based on a Warmachine 'jack. waraxe
Sweet! I'll enter and lose, but still, a contest is a great way to light a fire under my  and making me work on my army. Those pictures are great. Power Mackerel, 20 pts, confers +1 attack and ignores armour saves. Any unit wiith a model attacked by it take a -1 leadership modifier to see if they dare cross the mackerel wielding Lord's path again. if they can defeat the Lord they must take a difficult terrrain test to see if they can cross the slimy ground. Mat the fat
what you see is what you get basically, what ya see on the model is what it is equipped with. so no mackerels counted as plasma cannons

madscuzzy
Can we do a dread holding a mackeral then?... no marine, no eldar, just a mackeral. Counted as a dread CCW?....
mystlyfe
now, THAT would be a truly fearsome dred CCW! hey, in the BBB is gives a very vague description of them, saying that dred CCWs include wreking balls and the such.... mwahahahahaha! *runs and figure out how to make a mackerel wrecking ball of doom* ok, im gonna get smacked for that, but I deserve it sense i dodged out of the defiler one...
Vivi
I have a question. You know the Dreadnought in my Salamanders army (think about it, you'll remember). I'm planning on adding another one to the army, will this be ok to enter or will the fact that is doesn't come in the Dreadnought Boxed Set work against me in this ? Just looking for a simple yes or no.
Chronophague
What they mean with comes in the box is essentially that you only use parts that are in the dread box. Not that you actually have to have the box, or buy it in one. You can use a second hand dread, a mail ordered dread etc. As long as it's made of the parts that the normal dreads are made of. All you need to do is to take a pic of it when it's assembled before painting, and some pics of when it's done. Cheers
Kurgan the Lurker
Chrono has it mostly right. Yes you guys can convert your dreads -- just like it says in the rules. However in terms of models on the base we only want the Dread..not a dread and a marine, not a dread stomping a nid, not a dread being ridden by Eldar, etc. etc....just the Dread.... So take the contents of Dreadnaught box A. Add Forgeworld parts, Greenstuff Dragon pelts..whatever so long as its is GW stuff AND NOT ANOTHER MODEL OTHER THAN THE DREAD. That said Vivi, I don't recall your prior dread so I can't say one way or the other if there is something on it that would make a new version ineligible or not. You can PM me a picture if you want. Chronophague
2nd Runner Up: LE Battle Tour Dark Angels Captain. Anyone got a pic of this thing? The only DA captain I recall is the age old GD LE captain, but what's this all about? Sounds intresting... You don't mean the vet sarge do you? cheers
Kurgan the Lurker
This guy: http://www.duckblindminiatures.com/alec/vetsarge1-1.jpg Only the mini has a bolt pistol rather than a plasma pistol.
Chronophague
Weird... This is the one at shadow guards page, which he at least has listed as DA vet sarge. With a bolt pistol. I didn't even know there were two types of that model... Intresting  http://fortressofunforgiven.homestead.com/...00_08_B_005.jpg Oh well, cool stuff anyway. Now to try and not win but still place suitably  EDIT. Sheesh, didn't at first notice that's a conversion(the one in Kurgs post). My bad. Cheers
Captian Ahab
So the rule about no out of the box stuff, does that emply that I cannot submit mine although I have put a Dirge Caster on mine from my bitz box? And what if the base is a little bigger then 60mm? There is not much other then a dead BT and rocks on it. Is that ok?
