Not sure if Id actually do it, but would a torso and head(no arms/legs/ect), most covered in wires, chains and what-not be too much? Most of the torso woud be covered, although the head would be free.

And does the dred have to be in the same pose for each of the pics?

And thusly did he quote the Kurgz:

For those asking about additional models being added: I will point to a key word in rule 4 before I begin to beat you senseless with a fish  and then perhaps you will see the answer you seek. Note the area in bold:

4. The contest is Dreadnaught only. Entries may not contain any figures beyond those included in the box for the model. If it doesn't come in the box don't add it to your entry. No dioramas, duel scenes or the like will be accepted.

A helmet wouldn't be a figure, nor would a door or a rock (I am gonna tray and squeeze templar14 into the same airlock with Bite the Dust for that one I think). A torso, body, guy crushed in the power claw of the dread, guy crawling on dread etc. etc. would be a figure.

Bite the Dust: For the betterment of all I aught to push you out an airlock.... :cuss

Seriously, guys, do you ever consider reading the thread to see if your question has been asked already? ^_^

Some has made a dread that's poseable? I gotta see this. Unless it's like pointing plasmacannon upwards, and pointing plasmacannon downwards. Or a dread shaking that powerfist, lift da roof an all that...

We want tuna..

Oh yeah, there has been some rumour of the new dreads in the Marine book not being able to take a plasmacannon or multimelta(only the weapons in the box allowed)... I guess this won't affect the comp too much.

Cheers

Have there been any entries yet bc i havn't seen any in this thread?

If you read the thread, as has been suggested probably at every page of the thread, you'd know that no entries will be posted untill after the deadline, by the competition organizers.

Cheers

@Chrono:

Actually I did make a (slightly) poseable dread. I just made a really simple system to rotate it (I'll post pics of it behind the comp). That and of course the up-and-down-going arms :cuss ... None of this can't be seen in the pics (or in real life really), but I did remember to shoot some WIPs.

Next step is figuring something out about them arm and leg joint thingies... Maybe even bending toes. ^_^

Thanks Kurgan.

I try to avoid using glue in parts such as arms on dreds, doors, vehicle weponry, ect. I like being able to pose my models in semi-realistic positions according to the terrain, and sense normal models are too small to realistically do such, I try to always do it for vehicles. It makes for far cooler looking ruins and poses. Plus it allows me to be flexible with my weponry on my dred(not that i was going to swap weponry for the contest, it will armed the same way for all of its contest pics). So far, this dred can take all the chaos weponry aside of a plasma cannon, and a 2nd CC arm(although i know how im going to make it, i just havnt yet).

PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THIS POST FOLKS:

We began verifying entries today as we are starting to set up the gallery they will eventually be shown in. Of the 8 entries in so far...TWO were disqualified today for violating rule 1 of the contest. Now those folks obviously have a month to get a new entry in should they choose.

We would REALLY rather not have to DQ anyone else, but we will if the entry breaks the rules. So please make sure you are meeting the requirements before you send your entry in!
