Kurgan the Lurker
Alright folks, the votes are all tallied and the winners are all set to go. But first a few notes: 1. I think we had the best turn out vote wise for a contest ever. 142 people picked their 3 favorites (426 votes in total). 2. For those of you who are new to the B&C we DO NOT post final vote tallies since folks may be embarrased by a zero tally or lower than expected count for their entry. If you want to know how many you got just PM me. 3. Winners: Please PM me the following info: Your real name Address Telephone # Email that you can be reached at either by Warstore Neal or Achilles (in charge of distributing the runner up prizes) After I get all that I will pass it on to those two and for those who finished in 1st, 2nd or 3rd you will then be instructed to email Warstore Neal to finalize your prize getting. So onto the Frater Domus winners: FIRST PRIZE: All new V4 40k Rulebook and 1 set of Dread Arms of your choice from Forge World: Chronophague http://www.duckblindminiatures.com/bandc/dreadcon/entry22-1.jpg SECOND PRIZE: All new V4 40k Rulebook: Elfatto http://www.duckblindminiatures.com/bandc/dreadcon/entry14-1.jpg THIRD PRIZE: $25 in TheWarstore Bucks: Nightserpent http://www.duckblindminiatures.com/bandc/dreadcon/entry28-1.jpg 1st Runner Up: LE Games Day Wolf Priest: Grim Teef http://www.duckblindminiatures.com/bandc/dreadcon/entry19-1.jpg 2nd Runner Up: LE Battle Tour Dark Angels Captain: Psychosis PC http://www.duckblindminiatures.com/bandc/dreadcon/entry5-1.jpg Next up is the Moderator winners: First Place: Lord Ranulf http://www.duckblindminiatures.com/bandc/dreadcon/mentry1-4.jpg Second Place: Commander Y http://www.duckblindminiatures.com/bandc/dreadcon/mentry4-1.jpg Third Place: Several Concerned Cricketers http://www.duckblindminiatures.com/bandc/dreadcon/mentry6-1.jpg Super close moderator vote. 1 vote seperated 1st from 2nd place and only 3 votes seperated third and fourth place for the mods. Gabekun
Congrats to all of the winners! And a great turnout indeed... while I may not be participating in the next contest, I hope it will turn out just as good (and I am sure it will). JeanFrancois
Congrats to the winners on their excellent entries. Looks like I had to settle for the 6th spot! YEARGH!!!! :cry2: Time to get better with those brushes! :P Any comments about my Dread, what could've been improved, what was good, etc. is most welcome. crazycow
Its a good thing i was unable to vote since it would have turned me mad(well madder) trying to pick one. Really great job everyone.
T14
Congratulations to all winners. And thank you to all participants for providing eye-candy for everyone to enjoy. One question. Why is Moshiko in the mod categegory? is there a promotion under way or was that entry put in the wrong category? Cheers -t14
Justin Kase
Excellent work and congrats to all :P Really loved the little details on Chrono's dread - especially the mini-shield purity seals! Now to begin reading how everyone did what they did!
JMcL63
Congratulations to the winners and your well-deserved success! I know I voted for some of the places in both categories, but I can't be sure exactly which until I can see a list of the entries by number again (where's it gone?). This has been a great comp, and I enjoyed it even more than the original, to celebrate the B&C's first anniversary. ;) PS. Commander Y only came second, so there you go everyone- the masters can be 'knocked off their pedestals'! :P PPS. D'oh! Well slap me with a wet fish- I've just noticed the handy-dandy link Kurgan provided so we could see the entries by name! :P
Inquistor McLain
Congradualtions to every one, there was a great turnout. If any one wants to comment on my dred please fell free to do so. Angron Khornate
Great contest and a well deserved 1st place from Chronophague, I love that dread :P it was always 1st place in my mind!! I realy thought Psychosis PC's dread would have done better, but there where alot of great dreads, very hard to call. Again, a well deserved 1st place for Lord Ranulf, that Dread was also 1st place in my mind as far as the mods go ;) Great competition! The high quality of dreads across the board almost makes me happy that I 'didn't' enter, I'd have had no hope! :P
Drognan
Congratulations. Great job on the painting to all.
kraegus
aw drats, no placement for me... all I can say is that while by no means i am the best painter on the board, my entry this time was astronomically better in quality than my last painted figure. Congratulations to the winners, those truly were some very impressive dreads :P
GrimTeef
Heh heh! When I saw the entrants I knew it would come out that way for 1st thru 3rd! Surprising to see that I placed, to tell the truth. Congrats to the winners, this was a very hard fought contest, I think! After seeing the winners and how they were done, I think I'm going to go back and add a few details to my dread, just for kicks. Thanks everyone who voted for me - I'll try to do better on my next contest entry! Oh, and Elfratto - we ALL expect to see more and brighter pics of your dread. NS, I expect some more detail shots as well!
Lazarus valghyran
Isn't Grimteef's entry the one in the back of the new marine codex?
elfatto
Man, placing in the top 3 in the contest totally blows my mind. As everyone keeps saying, there were just too many awesome entries. Thanks to everyone who voted for me, and to Kurgan for putting the whole thing together. Grimteef: Ask, and ye shall recieve. I voted for your dread BTW :P. ShoeMaker
I am just stunned to see the degree of quality this forum can produce... I think if we really wanted the people here could clear out a fair section of GD. :P Congrats to all and even those who didn't place, us lazy ones like me should be the ones ashamed. Chronophague
Thanks for the kind words guys, I'll be sure to post some more on the dread soon. I'm attending a tournament at the moment, so I'm kinda tired, still 3 rounds of FB to go tomorrow, after todays three. And I've had my rear handed to me pretty royally today. :lol Excellent entries everyone, I sure didn't think I was gonna win... :P Cheers
Tyrus
Excellent job everyone, especially Chronophague ;) Your's was the one of the ones I picked out right away.
GrimTeef
Thanks for the pics, Elfatto! I'll be checking those out soon. Chrono, I knew you had it wrapped up the minute I saw your entry! I'd like to see a few more close up shots of him, and a explaination of how you did your blending, tricks and all! I'm gunna give you a run for your money on the next contest! My dread is in the back of the new Marine codex? I really doubt that for some reason... It might be my other dread I did with the TL lascannon and ML arms... Can anyone verify that? Lazarus, how'd you see it? I'm really curious now...
PsychosisPC
::cuss: ;) Not bad for my first B&C Contest. Actually, I am quite surprised I placed with the amount of great entries. I was pretty sure which one was Chrono's when I saw it come up in the contest. Excellent looking dread Chrono. My dread and GrimTeef's were probably the most obvious DIY paint schemes of any in the contest. I have spent a lot of time on mine, probably only to see mikebutcher's nurgle blow it up on the battlefield in our next game. It is also officially the last Cerulean Templar model of this current group, I plan to move on to some other stuff very shortly. Congrats to the rest of the winners, and I have no idea who elfatto is, but I am a sucker for anything blue, I'll be watching for you in the future. And thanks to all of those who voted for mine, much appreciated. Good contest all around guys. ---PPC
Albator
Congrats to all the winners and the participants ! It must have been a very thight race !
