IA: Aegyptus Astartes

The project currently going on behind IA: Aegyptus Astartes started over 5 years ago. I would like to thank the guys currently helping me expand it as we all know trying to build one DIY chapter to fit into the fluff of GW is hard enough with a fluff Nazi screaming out you can't do this or that, let alone develop two regions of blank space in the Imperium and forty or so chapters being created since the 4th founding working together without conflicting with published fluff. Those in the Aegyptus Astartes project have been working hard to make sure others will enjoy our work as well as we do while giving people enough information to start their own forces just like you would if you liked the fluff of the Dark Angels, Tactics of the Space Wolves or a character of the Blood Angels. Forgive me if this thread seems rattle brained at times due to you have almost 20 people hashing more then five years of work into events you can all follow. Some of you may remember this thread from back in November when the group first started to gather momentum right about the time the new codex came out.

Since then plenty of work has gotten done but at the same time some of the people then are no longer with the project so its some chapters have been written off, changed, or simple dropped from the fluff all together. Seeing more Egyptian themed marine chapters popping up on the forum lately has had the group ask me to post this to see what you think of the new stuff as well as fill empty spots in the group. We look forward to updating this thread over the coming days and getting your feedback. May you enjoy what you read. To start this thread rolling I'm posting a Sort of fluff timeline of most of the chapter developed in the Aegyptus Astartes group as well as major and minor events in their history. So onward we go.

The Investigation of the Adeptus Astartes chapters labeled as Aegyptus Astartes due to cultural tendencies and rituals toward their worship of the Emperor and the Imperial Cult has been long ongoing. Below are Entries by Inquisitor Constantius from on board his flagship Cynoscephalae.

The Eastern Lion region of space is located in the more commonly known region of the Ultima Segmentum, along the border of the Imperium near the Ghost Stars. This region like a lot of Imperial space houses many regiments of Imperial Guard and several chapters of Adeptus Astartes. It is recorded that those chapters located along the shipping lane" The Pharaoh's Gate ", belong to the sub-classification of the Aegyptus Astartes. It is these chapters of the Adeptus Astartes which investigation as a whole was started by a number of Inquisitors over the last 3000 years.

The Investigation was started when Inquisitor Kuran Disappeared looking into numerous reports of raided shipping lanes located in the outer edge of the other side of the Imperium in the Segmentum Tempestus. It was discovered a number of Adeptus Astartes Chapters listed as fleet based when founded had claimed home worlds. These chapter's founding locations were recorded to be along the shipping lane listed as the Pharaoh's Gate. Tracing those chapters

Been waiting for you to unleash the lovely fluff to the B&C :tu: Hopefully this should build more momentum as this is the original place for Egyptian Marines :P

There's a LOT more fluff - which Neph has put bucketloads of work into - so please take sandwhiches and other munchies for the long haul ;)

Eagerly waiting for more

Hey Neph and fellow Brothers of the Aegyptus.

Well i'm still around having alot of computer trouble (having to run web based msn messenger.) I am still around, i need all the links again to the different sites and the MSN group as they all got eaten in the great purge(read: the seventh reformatting of this blasted thing.)

I'm working on a new chapter at the moment, much easier to paint then my lions, still trying to decide on a name.

Nice to see my chapter in your story, great job. :tu:

INDEX ASTARTES: AEGYPTUS ASTARTES

ORIGINS

The Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes referred to within this report have a long standing and growing history. Documents have confirmed the oldest of the chapters to be from the fifth founding from Ultramarines gene seed. Two Inquisitorial records filed by Inquisitor Zaos speak of a fourth founding chapter of a related nature as these chapters, yet no other records of this chapter have been located. Early foundings appear along the Eastern Fringe near the Ghost Stars. Heavy Xenos invasions from Ork waaaghs appear to be the common reason behind most of the foundings early on. Records show while few chapters were planet based, it was crusades along side those planet based chapters along with recruitment from the nearby systems that spread the cultural and religious beliefs of the Cult of Amun through out the fleet based chapters.

It is during the Dark Founding that events transpired leading to the chapters of the Aegyptus Astartes to spread to a second location along the Western Fringe. Several chapters turned on those loyal to the Imperium before traveling to the Western Fringe stopping at a location outside Imperial borders. Pursuing fleet chapters took up locations along the Imperial border establishing the second location controlled by these chapters. Those chapters involved behind the Ghost Stars betrayal have been added to those recorded as Excommunicated Traitoris. While records show up to the most recent founding of the Adeptus Astartes that the Aegyptus Astartes chapters have grown in number serving in honor and loyalty to the Imperium, A second betrayal added again to the ranks of the Excommunicated Traitoris and brought forth the Ongoing investigation of all Remaining Aegyptus Astartes chapters. It is disturbing to find within the Aegyptus Astartes, Three chapter formations with no founding dates recorded and little documentation of the chapters themselves adding to the secrets uncovered to be protected by those within the Aegyptus Astartes.

HOME WORLDS

The home worlds of the Aegyptus Astartes chapters are located in two clusters of space along the Eastern and Western Fringe. These sector clusters are referred to as the Lions by those chapters calling them home. These references are in relation with hidden objects or locations with both sectors. The Eastern Lion consists of six sectors made up of close to thirty systems surrounding the trade route called the Pharaoh
