red templars

ive seen the red templars in the space marine codex, does anyone know anything about them

Only thing that I know is that their usually pictured on bikes. Might not mean anything but you could try and make them a White Scar army but without the savageness. Like civilized bikers ^_^

I did a pretty serious search on this a while back and didn't turn up any official info. There are a few fan sites, however.

 

In a nutshell: make up your own info, though you run the slight risk of having countered IF they ever do anything official.

I have only seen one pic of the Red Templars myself (in the codex) and that would not be enough to make me think that they +always+ ride bikes in a White Scars kind of way, but the Fleur-de-lys symbol does make me think of questing Brettonian knights from WHFB. That reminds me of one of my long abandoned DIY chapter ideas...

 

I know marines are often portrayed as knights of the stars, so how about a Brettonian themed marine army, mainly on bikes to simulate horses, with scouts on bikes or on foot being the 'squires' and few or no devastators to show their distain for cowardly long range combat.

 

Of course the rules and units worked better with the old 3rd ed. Whitescars rules, but it is probably do-able at a stretch with some thought and imagination. :unsure:
