The Sons of Shu are a Diy chapter I am thinking of makeing. In the Army I will be trying to make it manly a sky bassed army.I will be haveing IMPERIAL THUNDERBOLT HEAVY FIGHTER, LIGHTNING IMPERIAL ATTACK FIGHTER, & Land Speeders conveirted into planes. I do not know what I will do for the rest of the army.

I personally think that the marines are unlikely to use Imperial Navy fighters, partially because they would have a hard time fitting in the cockpit, and I doubt any marine chapter is going to be able to swallow enough of their pride to ask for some to be attached to them. A thunderhawk or two (heh, expensive, but fluffy) would fit much better. Since you want skyborne, it'd be advisable to avoid tanks, prolly a good idea to give everything not being ferried in the T-Hawks a drop pod.

I can't give you any other advice, as you've given very little info to work with.

What is their heraldry? Why were they created? Why do they have a predilection for skyborne assaults?

Try answering these questions, and you may find it easier both to think up fluff for your army, and to get help from others, as they have a better idea of the idea you're going for with them.

Hope that helps

Like Alasseo said, Drop Pods seem more of the Space Marine version of an airborne company. Dropping in, doing the mission and getting out of there. Take tactical squads in drop pods. Assault Marines/Land Speeders for deep strike and maybe take Heed the Wisdom just to take dreads as heavy's in pods.

Yep, now you have a theme for your chapter you have to build some fluff around it. I stongly suggest reading the ultimate DIY chapter creation thread stickied at the top of this forum. To quote from it, a few fields you may want to think bout are:

- What geneseed are they?

- What founding were they?

- What is their chapter symbol/colour scheme?

- What is their Homeworld like, and what is the culture of the homeworld? (ie is it a Hive World, a Feral World, a Death World etc)

- Where in the Imperium are they based? (It may help define the kind of enemies they face most often.)

- What is their Combat Doctrine like? (do they prefer Close Combat or ranged fighting?)

- What is their Organisation like (do they follow the Codex or are they a bit different?)

- What is their Belief System?

 :( Hey duckman,

Why not use they trait for taking the assualt marines as elites, (I dont' have the codex right now), then use the landspeeders in all variations (the Tempest is actually list on forge world as an airplane). This could bulk out you army if you take independant characters with jumpacks and load your troops into thunderhawks. This would allow you to feild that arial army you want with plenty of ways to add to your gaming style in the future. After all there are alot of things a thunderhawk can carry.

You'll fingd the rules for the thunderhawks and landspeeder tempest in Imperial Armor from forgeworld.
