Cigaro
currently working on chapter name Chapter name: Blood of Anubis/aribter of anubis Current Pharaoh: Menkaure Current high priest: Isesi Current Grand advisor: sekmehotep, scourge of Bellees Prime Gene seed: unknown Homeworld: Celtos V The world of Celtos was a lush oasis world filled with many different types of plants and a diverse wildlife. Its surface was completely covered in a dense primordial jungle that hid a deep resevoir of natural ores, minerals, and what is refered to as the 'world lake' by its natives. Underneath the dense soil is infact a deep resevoir of water, that allows is drawn upwards for the sustinance of its giant forest. It is a proverbial rainforest world that lives a constant damp and humid existance thanks to this world lake that it sits atop. Wild life on the planet on the planet is said to be "hostile at best." The first imperial contact was during the Emperor's crusade to bring light to the galaxy. The fist attempts at contacting a possible lost populace of imperial citizens was failed, so it was left up to the Emperor's children(recently favored by the Emperor) to see if there was infact a derelict society residing on this massive jungle. The Emperor's Children went to work sifting through the massive jungle, moving at a pace that was not fitting for the holy warriors of the astartes. The company of still loyal marines eventually deemed the planet to be either to young for human existance, or the population destroyed by hostile lifeforms. Whichever didn't matter as the marines left the planet, drawn into a greater conflict..the horus heresy! As the heresy raged, an unknown amount of marine companies descended upon the planet for various reasons. As wars raged Celtos found half of its planet scourged, leaving it a barren desert, bereft of life. The other half how ever, unbeknownced to the marines who scouted the planet..contained a hardy primative folk that dwelled slightly below the surface in a cave like existance. (sorry for length) Organization: The Arbiters of Anubis contain a heavy amount of bikes. With their chapter Monestary deep in the desert, most water must be gathered from a small adjacent factory int he forest, requiring the marines to make it across the desert swiftly, as even the holy armor of the marine cannot bear trhe scorching heat of the desert for too long. This tradition of fast moving warfare was derived directly from native tradition, being that the natives used large spiders or "sikmos" as the natives called them. It is reported most marines still refer to their now 'iron spiders' as Sikmos. Also contained in the chapter is a large amount of dreadnoughts, so much so they form a war council when needed. These reflect the chapters pseudo-name that is the 'judge of the fallen' as well as their reported chapter wide cult of death. Almost all of the chapters fast attack is made of tactical marines mounted in APCs. The chapter lost most of its assault marines in a crusade against a world deeply infested with a pleasure cult by the fell marines of the Emperor's Children. Also there is little trainging assault marines can do in the dusty atmosphere of Celtos. Beliefs: The Arbiters of Anubis are obsessed with death. They beleive that a life in the service of the Emperor grants the marine to sit beside him int he afterlife. It is said by those who have witnessed the Arbiters in combat that marines gladly will take dangerous and almost suicidal missions because they beleive it will show the Emperor their eagerness to be with him. There is a common faith among the marines that their existance is really a test, a judgement of sorts(connection to the name...and rool Anubis played int he afterlife) and if they pass, they will sit besides the Emperor, waiting for the time he returns with all the fallen in his name to reclaim the unniverse and bring it to his light. Ever bullet fired is another turn of the scale weighing their heart against a feath from the Emperors cape. Also held in high esteem among the chapter is the body of the fallen. Every marine is preserved after death, because when the Emperor returns they will need something to fight with. Some marines of high cailber are placed into metal sarcophoguses(sorry for the sp) so their souls may taste the Emperor's guidence and bring it to the chapter, leading them in the ways the Emperor sees fit. These Dreadnought 'half-ways' have an own council that has as much power as the chapter pharaoh. Also held in regard amongst the chapter is blood. The Arbiters glorify blood because they feel it is a manifest connection with their Emperor and that is infact the very essence of their soul. Sanguination rituals are done at ever entrance into the chapter, as all successful aspirants taste from a chalice that contains the Pharaoh's blood. All dead marines are drained of the blood and dispersed amongst the chapter so that they may taste the warriors sacrifice and hope to find guidence from his sacred vitae that may inspire marines to have visions of their own death, encouraged ofcourse! This has led to skepticism from other chapters and many inquisitors. It is reported the Ultramarines refuse to fight with the Arbiters of Anubis Hierarchy: highest rank in the chapter is ofcourse the Chapter pharaoh, the essencial equivilent of a chapter master. The difference is that the Pharaoh is regarded as the container of a piece of the Emperors own blood, much more than the other marines, so he is regarded as a sort of Emperor avatar amongst the men. Every fallen Pharaoh has been put into a dreadnought, along with chapter heroes. These dreadnoughts are said to from a council that are essentially the pharaohs personnal bodyguard. The most prolifferent rank in the marines is Priest. There are a total of 3 High priests but each priest trains an apprentice to be ready to take his place when the priest dies. Most of these apprentices are sgts.So most sgts. willhave a chaplian quality..( there schemes will involved more black ) the next rank are pharaoh's advisors, or librarians. Well versed in the art of magic, they are there to aid the pharaoh combat foul witchcraft. Doctrine: a chapter that revolves around speed will use speed tactics, with its veteran brethren(dreads) giving firepower where the basic marine lacks it. The chapter revolves around getting the enemies face really fast, and bringing brute force to bear to tip the enemies balance. The Arbiters rely on fear tactics as well as their speed. When in a war, the marines take on a feral bloodlust that sometimes blinds them, but the veterans(dreads) are said to calm the marines with words of the Emperor. Genetics: The Arbiters of Anubis are a genetic quandry that even the techpriests of mars are baffled by. They show most of the genetic traits of space wolves...the manifestation of fangs...but their blood fury resembles that of the death company found in the blood angels. though genetically they are a foundry from the white scars no reasoning yet i hope you guys like it, but C&c please Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/77355-arbiters-of-anubis/ Share on other sites
Iron Hunter
cool chapter, you should let the guys who are doing the Egyptus astartes know of it. My comments are as follows: Both names are good, but i would try and word them abit differently, i cant really explain it at the moment, but 'blood of anubis' sounds more like the actual blood of anubis, while (just an example) 'Blood lords of anubis' sounds more like a chapter name.Thats my view anyway.Im hopin u get what i mean  The fast attack theme is carried through well, and i especially like the idea of the dreadnoughts being the Pharaohs bodyguard. As i didnt see mention of traits (or im just blind) heed the wisdom of the ancients would be sweet, then perhaps having 3 venerable dreads (named after previous chapter masters of course) running about the battle field protecting the pharaoh would be rather fluffy. Interesting to see your colourscheme, chapter badge and so forth when you've got it sorted.Keep it up  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/77355-arbiters-of-anubis/#findComment-890117 Share on other sites
Ferrata
I'm not sure if you've seen the Aegyptus Project, but quoted from another topic I would like to direct you to here, also contact this guy who smells  or this guy for all your Egyption needs  Ferrata It is reported the Ultramarines refuse to fight with the Arbiters of Anubis I would drop this bit, it doesnt add anything to the chapters feel or add depth. Im not totally sure about the gene-seed section either, it seems abit all over the place. HellChyld
Just a question, has any of the Aegyptus fallen to chaos? Just wondering as this could be a nice bit of fluff you could write Ferrata <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I hope it doesn't disappoint then as since the 4th founding to current days of imperial fluff nine aegyptus astartes chapters have fallen to wicked ways of chaos and the Prophet of Horus. Fluff on such is forth coming along with everything else but shouldn't be much longer just working it over like everything else aegyptus. gotta make sure it fits if ya know what I mean Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/77355-arbiters-of-anubis/#findComment-890255 Share on other sites

Cigaro
thanks everyone for the replies, ironloki and neph im sure you've already seen this at aegyptus astartes, but id thought id throw it out over here too @ Iron Hunter: i agree with you about the name, im going to work something out using a theme i presented. i was fond of arbiters because anubis was the one to weigh people's hearts, or 'judge' them fit to enter the after life...but maybe i can find a better word...to the thesaurus! as for traits, i had mentioned them over the AA, but i for some crazy reason deleted them here, well ill put them up Traits: Heed the wisodm of the ancients be swift as the wind Drawbacks: flesh over steel(used a lot..but i like the idea of rhino's as fast attack) faithful unto death (my marine's are very willing to die) @ferreta : as ironloki said...i am part of the aegyptus astartes lol the ultramarines bit..was from a story i wrote(that will be up soon) about my marines a while back before i actually had a clear idea of what i was doing. Though the sort of 'model' space marine chapter that the ultramarines represent was always a turn off for me...i hav eto say the grudge they feel for my chapter is probably derived from one of my good friens playing them..since its always annoying playing marine vs. marine when both chapters are loyal...this should add flavor to the games :tu: so its 1 part fluff that i like 1 part game fun as for the geneseed. yes it is erratic ...i cannot use space wolves or blood angels geneseed...as they are a little wacky..so i really dunno how i can explain the fangs at all...a possible mutation of some sort...white scars geneseed has been used a few times. The commetn about death company was simply to put a good image in your mind about what it looks like when my marines get really into...killing.. there are 2 mutations found in my chapter 1. fangs 2. an overdeveloped Omophagea which works with the marines blood rituals, that is drinking the blood of the fallen in hopes to get memories etc...its detailed under beleifs. ;) i guess genetic divergeance will suffice for now thanks to everyone who is reading! p.s. Neph, i am currently writing a story about my chapter..and i am located int he western lion..correct me if im wrong..but that is where some of these blasphemous aegyptus astartes reside, i might want to use a chapter as the antagonists int he story..would that be cool with you? and do you have any information on them ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/77355-arbiters-of-anubis/#findComment-890542 Share on other sites
