Einsatz
Chapter Name: Void Lords Founding: Still trying to figure that out. Mid M35 if possible. Founding Chapter: Ultramarines Home world: At present fleet based due to destruction of home world. Uniform: Black Symbol: White skull with halo on red field. The chapter was formed in the century prior to the age of apostasy and posted to a planet on the North-West boundary of the Ultima Segmentum. During the early years of the chapters service, most of their actions were space hulks and pirates. When High Lord Vandire sent forth his armada it was destroyed and lost in what is now the Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/77428-my-army/ Share on other sites
schoon
A few things that might bear further thought: A chapter's home planet falling wouldn't automatically label them excommunicate. IIRC, one of the GW chapters have lost their homeworld as well, with no ill attentions from the Inquisition. I don't think that another chapter would send anyone on a Crusade (apart from one of their own Marines). I would think that would be a job for the High Lords of Terra. The Ordo Xenos employs the Deathwatch. Your Marines might have been inducted into it, but it's doubtfull that they would serve the Ordo Xenos directly otherwise. Keep it up! Cigaro
schoon brought up some very good points maybe say that some of your marines were involved in the fall of the planet...or something...but yeah basically schoon covered it. the inquisition is an organization built on suspician, i mean even amongst its own members. They are desperatly secretive and wouldn't think to share any of their knowledge. if wish to maintain that close tie...maybe dream up an ordo xenos inquisitor who hangs around your chapter making sure they are in check, seeing as how the inquisition would moniter a chapter that schismed. then just say there is a proliference of death watch veterans game wise...include a kill team of death watch, and then have all your sgts. get upgraded, itll look spiffy! i like your idea and i like your fluff alot...keep it going! Ferrata
fled to Ultimar with the remnants of his chapter. He petitioned the Lord of the Ultramarines for the right to demonstrate his loyalty to the Emperor I do believe the Ultramarines will fire on any traitors that come near their homeworld. They might not be 100% behind the =][= but if you've been declared traitor chapter, then they will try and kill you. Their like that ::cuss: It seems rather Dark Angel-ish without the secretcy, so maybe try and make it a bit more unique, but the whole start seems quite different. To replace the Ultra bit, how about the petition with a =][= and get to go on a death crusade. Their not allowed to recruit, and are to fight until they die. That would make a quite interesting attitude for the marines Ferrata Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/77428-my-army/#findComment-891255 Share on other sites
Einsatz
All valid points. And I'm sure my writing failed to explain correctly. I'm used to writing for the army so it should look more like this: 1) Chapter created 2) chapter excels at boarding actions 3) world inside storm of emperors wrath 4) civil war involving the chapter 5) good guys lose war, destroy planet 6) flee to Ultramar, request santuary 7) word from ultramarines help with the inquisition 8) placed on crusade to western reaches 9) return from crusade, still under suspicion 10) many elisted into ordo xenos KT (high level of experience with xenos) 11) continue to crusade into the storm 12) continue inquisitorial supervision I am looking at a beat up marine force with a high number of xenos vets. Don't want the DA secrecy thing, so placed them on a continueing crusade Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/77428-my-army/#findComment-894043 Share on other sites
Librarian- Melechor
Still trying to figure that out. Mid M35 if possible. That would be the 19th or 20th founding there. A crusade was formed and the Void Lords were sent to the very edges of imperial space for 1000 years. Thats a little harsh, many chapters that were involved in the badab campaign were only given 100 year punishments. Other than that, the fluff looks great, nice job  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/77428-my-army/#findComment-894159 Share on other sites
